Trump to Hold ‘Victory Rally’ in D.C. One Day Before Inauguration
The president-elect’s massive rally will kick off his return to the White House.
President-elect Donald Trump is set to host a “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” in Washington, D.C., on January 19 just one day before he is officially sworn in for his second term as president. The event, announced by Trump’s inauguration committee, will take place at Capital One Arena, which holds approximately 20,000 people and will feature multiple speakers alongside Trump.
This will be Trump’s first rally in the nation’s capital since January 6, 2021. His return signals a triumphant moment for his movement, following his decisive victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
The president-elect recently met with Washington, D.C., Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser, who described their discussion as “great,” noting that both leaders want the city to be the “most beautiful” in the world. Despite their political differences, the meeting suggested a rare moment of cooperation between Trump and the deeply blue district.
Trump’s D.C. rally will be his second major post-election speech, following his address at Turning Point USA’s America Fest on December 22. During that speech, he declared, “The Golden Age of America is upon us.”
The incoming president has vowed to hit the ground running, promising that his administration will be “fully operational” within two hours of taking office on January 20. However, his ability to execute his agenda swiftly will depend on how quickly his cabinet nominees are confirmed.
Trump has already warned that Senate Democrats will attempt to delay his cabinet confirmations in an effort to slow down his administration’s momentum. Some of his picks face significant opposition, including:
Pete Hegseth (Defense Secretary nominee)
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (Health and Human Services Secretary nominee)
Tulsi Gabbard (Director of National Intelligence nominee)
Meanwhile, Matt Gaetz withdrew from consideration for Attorney General after backlash.
As Trump prepares to take the oath of office, his Victory Rally is expected to be a high-energy event that sets the tone for his administration’s return. With the MAGA movement stronger than ever, Trump’s rally will serve as both a celebration and a call to action for his supporters nationwide.
