Trump Vows to Target Venezuelan Drug Traffickers by Land
With sea routes nearly shut down, Trump’s next move is to stop cartel poison flooding through America’s borders.

President Donald Trump is making bold moves to protect American lives and secure the border. Speaking to U.S. service members on Thanksgiving Day, Trump made it clear: the United States will soon begin targeting Venezuelan drug traffickers on land the next phase in a crackdown that’s already crushed the cartels at sea.
"In recent weeks, you've been working to deter Venezuelan drug traffickers, of which there are many," Trump told troops at Dyess Air Force Base in Texas. “There aren't too many coming in by sea anymore. You’ve probably noticed that.”
That’s because under Trump’s watch, U.S. forces have already achieved an estimated 85% reduction in maritime drug trafficking. Sea routes used by Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang and Colombia’s ELN have been obliterated in recent months with over 21 cartel-linked boats destroyed in coordinated U.S. strikes.
Now Trump’s sights are set on the land routes. "The land is easier," Trump said. "But that’s going to start very soon."
The message to the cartels? You’re out of time.
Fentanyl and synthetic opioids primarily trafficked through U.S. borders are now the leading cause of death for Americans aged 18 to 45.
Over 100,000 overdose deaths were recorded last year alone, many directly tied to drugs flowing from Latin American networks backed by hostile regimes like Venezuela’s Maduro dictatorship.
Border seizures of cocaine, meth, and heroin are surging under Biden, but only because traffickers know the current administration won’t stop them.
Trump, unlike Biden, understands that this is not just a law enforcement issue it’s a national security crisis.
Earlier this month, Trump refused to rule out the use of U.S. ground troops in Venezuela, noting that his administration will do whatever it takes to dismantle the transnational criminal networks that are killing Americans by the tens of thousands.
“I don’t rule out anything,” Trump said on Nov. 17. “We warn them: stop sending poison to our country.”
While Biden’s DHS is busy passing out welcome packets to illegal migrants and making excuses for fentanyl deaths, Trump is leading with strength and results. He’s already obliterated the cartel supply lines at sea. Now, he’s going after the rest on land.
The difference in leadership could not be more stark. Trump doesn’t just talk about “fighting drugs” he dismantles the networks behind them.
If you're tired of watching this administration sit on its hands while families across America are torn apart by cartel poison, it’s time to rally behind a president who takes decisive action.
