Trump Threatens 25 Percent Tariffs on Nations Doing Business With Iran
As Iranian regime faces mass unrest, Trump flexes U.S. power and warns military action is on the table.

President Donald Trump just fired another major shot in his campaign to hold rogue regimes and their global enablers accountable. In a decisive statement on Monday, Trump announced that any country doing business with the Islamic Republic of Iran will face a 25% tariff on their trade with the United States, effective immediately.
“This Order is final and conclusive,” Trump declared on Truth Social. “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
This is Trump’s America First policy in action unapologetic, forceful, and aimed directly at a regime that has for decades sponsored terror, built nuclear weapons in defiance of the world, and brutally oppressed its own people.
The president’s announcement comes as mass protests continue to erupt across Iran, with brave Iranian citizens demanding an end to the tyrannical Islamic theocracy that has ruled them with an iron fist since 1979. According to reports, demonstrators have overwhelmingly rejected reforms and are demanding full regime change.
“Iranians pushed past the ballot box and found the street to be the best way to contest the state,” said Behnam Ben Taleblu, senior director of the Iran program at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. “They seek wholesale political change not evolution, not another fig leaf.”
The response from Iran’s regime has been predictably barbaric. The U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reports that at least 503 protesters have been killed by Iranian security forces. For five days and counting, Iran has cut off its citizens from the internet a tactic straight out of the dictator’s playbook.
President Trump is making clear that the days of appeasing Iran a hallmark of the Obama-Biden era are over. In June, U.S. forces launched “Operation Midnight Hammer,” a precision air campaign that obliterated Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, halting their weapons program in its tracks.
Now, with pressure mounting both inside and outside Iran, Trump isn’t ruling out further military action.
“He is unafraid to use military options if and when he deems necessary,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. “Nobody knows that better than Iran.”
In recent days, Trump has confirmed that Iranian leaders have reached out privately to negotiate, but warned that “he may have to act” before a meeting occurs, depending on what unfolds on the ground.
“There seems to be some people killed that aren’t supposed to be killed,” Trump said. “These are violent if you call them leaders, I don’t know if they are leaders they rule through violence.”
This is what real leadership looks like a president who isn’t afraid to confront evil head-on, whether it’s on the battlefield, at the negotiating table, or with the full weight of the U.S. economy behind him.
Trump’s message is clear: if you want access to the American market, you cannot bankroll terrorism and tyranny. And if the world won’t hold Iran accountable, the United States will.
