Trump Threatens 10 Percent Tariff on Pro-BRICS Countries
President warns nations backing anti-dollar alliance they’ll pay a price for opposing American interests.

President Donald Trump is making it clear you stand with BRICS, you pay the price.
On Sunday, Trump took to Truth Social with a bold warning any country choosing to align with the anti-American BRICS alliance will face an additional 10% tariff, no exceptions.
“Any Country aligning themselves with the Anti-American policies of BRICS, will be charged an ADDITIONAL 10% Tariff,” Trump wrote. “There will be no exceptions to this policy.”
Originally founded in 2009 by Brazil, Russia, India, and China, BRICS has morphed into a growing coalition with one clear objective: undermine the dollar and shift the global balance of power away from the United States. With new members including Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, South Africa, Indonesia, and the UAE, the group is now expanding its reach and influence—with Russia and China steering the wheel.
At this weekend’s BRICS summit in Brazil, the alliance condemned Trump’s strategic strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling it a “violation of international law” a laughable claim from countries that routinely flout human rights and fund terrorism. Iranian officials attended the summit in person, seeking new allies as their aggression continues.
Meanwhile, the BRICS “New Development Bank,” led by former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, is working overtime to reduce reliance on the U.S. dollar by issuing loans in Chinese renminbi. Rousseff declared, “Any business or government that borrows in foreign currency becomes subject to decisions made by the Federal Reserve.”
Translation? They’re building a system designed to sidestep American economic power, and they aren’t hiding it.
Trump saw this coming. Back in December, he warned that any BRICS attempt to replace the dollar would be met head-on. This weekend’s declaration marks a clear escalation and a long-overdue America First response to a growing international threat.
Key facts to know:
The BRICS bloc now includes 10+ nations and growing openly seeking to challenge U.S. dominance.
Nine new countries, including Cuba, Kazakhstan, and Bolivia, became BRICS “partner states” in January.
BRICS is working to create a rival currency system to bypass the dollar and U.S. banking networks.
Trump’s tariff threat sends a clear message: countries can either do business with the United States or with those seeking to destroy its influence. But not both.
