Trump to Relocate Space Force Command Back to Alabama

Reversing Biden’s politically motivated decision, Trump restores Space Command HQ to a red state and saves taxpayers hundreds of millions.

President Donald Trump is set to relocate the U.S. Space Force Command Headquarters back to Huntsville, Alabama, in a bold reversal of a Biden-era decision that many Republicans slammed as blatantly political.

According to multiple reports, Trump will make the announcement Tuesday, bringing the military’s newest combatant command back to the location his administration originally selected before Joe Biden stepped in to change it.

“Space Command coming to Huntsville? Count on it,” said Alabama Governor Kay Ivey, who has long championed the move. “Huntsville was already chosen once before… and for good reason.”

And she's right. Huntsville’s Redstone Arsenal already a national hub for military space operations was ranked as the top candidate in a merit-based review during Trump’s first term. But after taking office, Biden scrapped that decision and moved the headquarters to Colorado Springs, Colorado, a state run entirely by Democrats and hostile to the Trump administration.

The reversal wasn’t just about geography it was about ideology.

Numerous GOP leaders and defense officials saw Biden’s move as political retaliation. Colorado enforces zero abortion restrictions and proudly boasts about its “resistance” to Trump a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“My concern is, it looks like it’s payback from the President of the United States,” said Rep. Austin Scott (R-GA). “And payback is a very dangerous game.”

Others believe Trump is rightfully pushing back against a state whose leadership openly weaponized the legal system against him, including attempts to block him from the 2024 ballot and constant lawsuits from activist state officials.

But this isn’t just about politics it’s also about saving your tax dollars.

“Moving the Space Force Command from Colorado to Alabama will save taxpayers $420 million, per Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL),” noted White House correspondent Daniel Baldwin.

That’s nearly half a billion dollars in savings all while restoring integrity to a process that Biden hijacked for political gain.

Once again, Trump is proving that he’s willing to undo the partisan damage inflicted by the Biden administration and make strategic decisions based on merit, not ideology.

Why Huntsville Makes Sense:

  • It ranked #1 in the original Pentagon review.

  • It’s home to Redstone Arsenal, already a critical military space infrastructure hub.

  • It provides significant long-term cost savings.

  • Alabama supports pro-military, pro-America values, not radical progressive agendas.

Biden’s attempt to strip this project from Alabama wasn’t about national security. It was about rewarding blue states and punishing red ones. And now, Trump is putting an end to that game.

Space Force is one of the most innovative branches of our military, and it deserves a permanent home that reflects strength, strategy, and smart fiscal management not political payback.
