Trump Blocks Illegals from Social Security Benefits

President Donald Trump just delivered on another America First promise blocking illegal immigrants from receiving Social Security benefits, a handout they were quietly handed under Joe Biden’s failed administration.

In a new presidential memorandum signed this week, Trump ordered his administration to ensure that only legal American citizens receive Social Security payments, cutting off a benefit that the Biden White House shockingly extended to over 2 million illegal immigrants in FY2024 alone.

Let that sink in: two million illegals were given Social Security numbers last year. Under Biden, our taxpayer-funded programs became a cash machine for people who broke our laws to get here.

“This is about putting Americans first,” the White House said. “These benefits were never meant for people who entered our country illegally.”

Trump’s directive includes multiple sweeping reforms:

• The Social Security Administration must immediately halt payments to illegal aliens, and any organization failing to verify eligibility will face enforcement.

• A crackdown on fraudulent Social Security claims, especially targeting people over 100 years old with mismatched or suspicious records.

• Expansion of the SSA fraud-prosecutor program to over 50 U.S. Attorney’s offices, plus a new Medicaid fraud unit in 15 more.

• Direct investigation of fraud involving identity theft and illegal use of Social Security numbers.

The White House confirmed that the administration has already stopped over 1,000 immigrants tied to terrorism or crime from receiving benefits payments that would have been handed out under Biden’s open-border disaster.

This isn’t just about immigration. It’s about fairness. The Congressional Budget Office estimated Biden’s border policies have cost taxpayers $16.2 billion, while FAIR reports the total annual cost of illegal immigration to be $182 billion. That includes:

• $66.4 billion in federal spending, and

• $115.6 billion at the state and local level.

Trump is sending a clear message: the American taxpayer will no longer foot the bill for Biden’s border failures. And he’s backing it up with real action including the launch of the CBP Home app, which offers illegal immigrants the opportunity to “self-deport” before enforcement knocks on their door.

While Biden continues to hand out benefits to anyone who shows up at the border, Trump is doing what every responsible leader should protecting the Social Security system for the Americans who paid into it.

This is just the beginning. And in 2025, the America First agenda is back on the march.
