Trump Sends 2,000 Federal Agents to Minnesota in Massive Immigration Crackdown
Biden let it fester now Trump is cleaning house as Somali-linked fraud and cartel cash trigger historic enforcement surge.

President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of 2,000 federal immigration agents to Minnesota in a sweeping month-long crackdown targeting illegal immigration, organized fraud, and national security threats. The move marks one of the most aggressive enforcement operations in recent memory and sends a clear message: America’s sovereignty is not up for negotiation.
According to Homeland Security sources, agents from across the country were told over the weekend to report to Minnesota “ASAP.” This unprecedented surge follows revelations that Somali nationals operating in the state allegedly stole over $9 billion in taxpayer funds some of which was funneled directly to Somali terrorist group Al-Shabaab, according to reports from City Journal.
Federal prosecutors have already charged more than 90 individuals since 2021, with over 60 convictions tied to a massive web of fake nonprofits, shell companies, and daycare scams that ripped off welfare programs.
The operation isn’t just about immigration it’s about fraud, terror funding, and restoring law and order in a state rocked by scandal under Democrat rule.
The multi-billion-dollar fraud ring reportedly diverted U.S. taxpayer money meant for needy families straight into overseas accounts.
Daycare centers across Minneapolis have come under investigation after viral videos exposed empty or fake facilities collecting state funds.
Some of the stolen money, according to officials, was laundered through fake food programs and sent back to Somalia, with ties to militant groups.
Leading the charge is Customs and Border Protection Commander Gregory Bovino, the same tough-on-crime official behind successful operations in Los Angeles, Chicago, and Charlotte. Bovino is expected to oversee ICE and Border Patrol efforts alongside Homeland Security Investigations teams.
ICE has also mobilized aircraft to quickly transport detainees from Minnesota to other states with available detention capacity, setting the stage for rapid deportations.
This marks a significant expansion of “Operation Metro Surge,” launched at the end of 2025, which netted over 400 illegal immigrants in Minnesota alone. Now, Trump is doubling down.
But unsurprisingly, the roadblocks are already coming not from criminals, but from woke corporations.
Screenshots shared by DHS show Hilton Hotels canceling reservations for federal agents, allegedly because of their affiliation with immigration enforcement. One hotel email read, “We are not allowing any ICE or immigration agents to stay at our property.”
This kind of corporate sabotage of federal law enforcement perfectly illustrates how deep the rot goes from sanctuary politicians to activist hotel chains.
Minnesota is a battleground in the fight for America’s future.
Years of soft-on-crime policies, open border activism, and bureaucratic corruption have turned the Twin Cities into a haven for fraudsters and criminal networks. Under President Trump, that era is over.
Unlike Biden who turned a blind eye as Minnesota was looted from within Trump is sending a message to every city, state, and sanctuary sympathizer: the days of lawlessness are done.
