Trump Rejects Palestinian Statehood Push

Trump warns that recognizing a Palestinian state now would hand terrorists a victory they didn’t earn.

President Donald Trump has once again drawn a clear red line when it comes to rewarding terrorism. Speaking candidly aboard Air Force One, Trump made it unequivocally clear that any movement toward establishing a Palestinian state especially now is nothing more than a gift to Hamas.

“Well, you could make the case that you’re rewarding people, that you’re rewarding Hamas if you do that,” Trump said when pressed about international pressure on Israel. “And I don’t think they should be rewarded... I’m not in that camp.”

Trump's comments come as world leaders like France’s Emmanuel Macron and Britain’s newly elected Prime Minister Keir Starmer push ahead with plans to recognize Palestinian statehood efforts championed at a United Nations-backed conference hosted by Saudi Arabia and France. It’s the same tired globalist script: appease terror, ignore reality, and pressure the only democracy in the Middle East.

Let’s be absolutely clear about what’s happening here:

  • Hamas the same terrorist group responsible for the October 7, 2023 massacre that killed over 1,200 Israelis is still in control of Gaza.

  • More than 250 hostages were taken during that attack, including Emily Damari, a British-Israeli citizen held for 471 days and mutilated in captivity.

  • And yet, Western leaders want to “reward” this savagery with statehood?

Emily Damari didn’t mince words. In a pointed statement to PM Starmer, she warned that recognizing a Palestinian state now “sends a dangerous message: that violence earns legitimacy.” She’s right. Granting Hamas a diplomatic win would embolden extremists worldwide, not just in Gaza.

Meanwhile, former Arkansas Governor and U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee took Macron to task, offering a biting satirical suggestion “If Macron wants to give them a state, maybe he should carve it out of the French Riviera and call it ‘Franc-en-stine.’”

Huckabee also ripped into European hypocrisy “When Europe starts telling Israel to surrender land to Hamas, Israel’s response is exactly what any sovereign, moral nation would do: say ‘No’ and stand firm.”

In a direct counter to the U.N.’s misguided discussions, Israel’s Knesset is now considering asserting full sovereignty over Judea and Samaria the historical heartland of the Jewish people. It’s a powerful signal that Israel will not be bullied by bureaucrats or browbeaten by international conferences.

What we’re seeing is the same failed appeasement strategy that emboldened Nazi Germany in the 1930s. As David Harris put it “In 1938, Britain and France appeased Hitler by sacrificing Czechoslovakia. In 2025, they’re trying to appease Hamas by sacrificing Israel.”

Let’s not forget: under President Trump, the Abraham Accords reshaped the Middle East without ever giving Hamas a seat at the table. Peace was possible through strength, not surrender.

That’s the difference in leadership. And it’s exactly why Trump’s return to the White House is essential for Israel, for America, and for every nation that values freedom over fear.
