Trump Holds Positive Call With Putin Following Zelensky Peace Talks
As Biden remains sidelined, Trump edges closer to ending the Ukraine war with bold diplomacy and real leverage.

While Joe Biden continues to sleepwalk through global crises, President Donald Trump is stepping in once again to do what the establishment refuses to broker peace through strength.
Following his high-profile meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend, Trump held a “productive” and “positive” call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, signaling momentum toward a real end to the Ukraine war that has dragged on since 2022.
According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, the call with Putin was “positive,” although specific details remain undisclosed. Trump described the conversation as “productive,” taking place just before his sit-down with Zelensky on Sunday.
“Our meeting was excellent. We have made a lot of progress on ending that war,” Trump said during a joint press conference.
Zelensky echoed the sentiment, stating that Ukraine has agreed to about 90–95% of Trump’s 20-point peace plan, which evolved from an earlier 28-point draft. The remaining points are reportedly under active discussion.
Here’s what we know about the Trump-led peace effort:
Trump’s 20-point plan is the first real framework to gain traction with both sides
Ukraine is reportedly on board with most of it, while Russia continues to push back on military restrictions and territorial clauses
Zelensky is asking for long-term security guarantees up to 50 years from the United States as part of any final deal
“We would like to consider the possibility of 30, 40, 50 years and then it will be a historic decision by Trump,” Zelensky said Monday.
Meanwhile, Russia made its displeasure known through action. Just hours before the Trump-Zelensky meeting, Moscow launched a brutal barrage of missiles and drones, killing at least two and injuring dozens more in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities. Zelensky responded by accusing Putin of trying to derail peace efforts with bloodshed.
“Russia demonstrated how it responds to peaceful negotiations between Ukraine and the United States,” Zelensky said Saturday.
Despite the violence, Trump remains optimistic. He said Americans can expect to know whether peace is within reach “in a few weeks,” emphasizing how close the two sides are to an agreement something the Biden administration has failed to achieve after years of reckless spending and aimless diplomacy.
Let’s be clear: Trump is doing what globalists and career diplomats refused to do.
Biden dumped over $113 billion into Ukraine with no end in sight.
Trump brought both sides to the table and made progress in days, not years.
Under Trump, America is respected again, not just as a superpower, but as a peacemaker.
For nearly two years, the D.C. establishment insisted there was no diplomatic path. Yet Trump has shattered that narrative not with empty gestures, but with real negotiations, hard leverage, and a clear goal: end the war, protect sovereignty, and secure peace.
The contrast couldn’t be more stark: while Biden plays catch-up and the UN remains missing in action, Trump is on the phone with world leaders, building deals that just might end a war the global elite were content to prolong.
This is what leadership looks like.
