Putin Knows He Can’t Challenge the U.S. Under Trump

Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) made it clear over the weekend that Russian President Vladimir Putin is well aware of who he doesn’t want to cross Donald Trump. Speaking on ABC News’ “This Week,” Mullin explained that Trump has the strength and strategy to force Putin into ending the war in Ukraine, something the Biden administration has utterly failed to do.

• Under Trump’s leadership, the U.S. maintained peace through strength, using decisive action to keep adversaries in check.

• Putin knows that if Trump were in office, the U.S. would have the firepower and the will to tip the war in Ukraine’s favor.

• Unlike Biden, Trump wouldn’t waste time with endless negotiations while allowing Russia to drag out the conflict.

“If we went all in for Ukraine, if we went all in with the resources we have, from air superiority to the weapons that we can deploy, Putin knows at that point he would be in an extremely negative position,” Mullin said.

This is the kind of leadership America had under Trump and the kind it desperately needs again. Mullin pointed to Trump’s swift action in Syria in 2017 as proof that strength works. After Russia-backed forces used chemical weapons, Trump wasted no time in bombing the airfield and taking control of the airspace, effectively sidelining Putin for the remainder of his presidency.

Compare that to Biden’s weak and confused foreign policy. Since he took office, Putin has only grown bolder, launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, aligning with China, and pushing America’s global influence to its weakest point in decades. The Biden administration’s strategy dumping billions into Ukraine with no clear objective hasn’t stopped the war; it has only prolonged it.

Mullin’s message is simple: Trump understands how to deal with Putin, and that’s why the Russian leader fears his return. With Trump in the White House, America can restore its strength and force real change on the world stage something Biden has proven incapable of doing.
