Trump, Putin Strike Deal for Ceasefire on Energy and Infrastructure

Strong leadership pushes peace talks forward while Biden’s foreign policy failures fade in the background.

President Donald Trump has once again proven what decisive, results-driven leadership can achieve. In a nearly three-hour call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump secured an immediate ceasefire on all energy and infrastructure targets in the ongoing Ukraine war a crucial step toward ending one of the most devastating conflicts of our time.

“My phone conversation with President Putin of Russia was a very good and productive one,” Trump posted to TRUTH Social. “We agreed to an immediate Ceasefire on all Energy and Infrastructure, with an understanding that we will be working quickly to have a Complete Ceasefire, and ultimately, an END to this very horrible War between Russian and Ukraine.”

This isn’t empty rhetoric. Trump outlined real, actionable points during the call:

  • Immediate halt to attacks on energy and infrastructure.

  • Negotiations on a full ceasefire and long-term peace deal starting immediately.

  • Discussions on maritime ceasefire protocols in the Black Sea.

The Biden administration had years to de-escalate this war and failed miserably. Instead, under Biden’s weak leadership, billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars were funneled into a never-ending conflict with no real strategy for peace. Trump, on the other hand, wasted no time after returning to office, proving that American strength at the negotiating table gets results.

The White House confirmed the leaders' commitment to not only cease hostilities but also improve U.S.-Russia relations, emphasizing potential for "enormous economic deals and geopolitical stability" once peace is secured.

Key highlights from the call:

  • Both Putin and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy expressed readiness to end the conflict.

  • Talks will continue in the Middle East, where American diplomats have already made significant progress.

  • Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire, ready to extend it pending Russian approval.

Trump also made it clear that the Middle East remains on his radar. He and Putin agreed on the critical need to halt the proliferation of strategic weapons and reaffirmed that Iran must never be allowed to threaten Israel’s existence a stark departure from Biden’s impotent Middle East policies.

U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff echoed the optimism, calling his recent talks in Moscow "positive," and emphasized that negotiations are closer to fruition than ever before. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz have also been instrumental in moving the process forward, showing what happens when competent leadership is at the helm.

While Democrats spent years entangling us deeper in endless foreign wars, President Trump is doing what he does best cutting through bureaucracy, ending needless conflict, and putting America's strength back on the world stage.
