Trump Says He Will Not Use ‘Fat Slob’ Remark Toward Pritzker
President roasts Illinois governor and slams Chicago’s lawless chaos during Thanksgiving turkey pardon.

President Donald Trump turned a lighthearted Thanksgiving tradition into a politically charged roast Tuesday taking aim at his favorite punching bag, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, during the annual turkey pardoning ceremony.
Trump, never one to shy away from a joke with bite, riffed off-script in his remarks, saying:
“I had a little bit of a Pritzker joke, I was gonna talk about ‘Pritzker in size,’ but when I talk about Pritzker, I get angry because he’s not letting us do the job.”
Then, with perfect comedic timing, Trump added:
“Some speech writer wrote a joke about his weight, but I would never want to talk about his weight. I don’t talk about people being fat. I refuse to talk about the fact that he’s a fat slob. I don’t mention it.”
The crowd erupted but underneath the humor was a pointed reminder of what’s happening in Pritzker’s Chicago rampant crime, illegal immigration chaos, and failed leadership.
The friction between Trump and Pritzker isn’t new. But it’s heating up again as Chicago descends into lawlessness. Trump has offered repeatedly to send in the National Guard to help restore order a move Pritzker refuses to accept. The results have been tragic:
A 26-year-old woman was set on fire in a Chicago train station by a man with over 70 prior arrests.
Violent attacks on federal immigration officers in Illinois have gone completely unchecked.
A mass shooting last week prompted Trump to declare on Truth Social:
“The people are chanting, BRING IN TRUMP!!!”
Back in September, Trump made it clear “Pritzker needs help badly, just doesn’t know it yet… I will solve the crime problem fast, just like I did in DC. Chicago will be safe again.”
Meanwhile, Pritzker’s Democrat machine continues to oppose any and all immigration enforcement, doubling down on sanctuary policies even as the streets spiral into crisis.
Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia McLaughlin put it bluntly last month:
“If J.B. Pritzker actually walked the streets of his own city, he would see domestic terrorists and violent rioters attacking police officers and the scourge of violent crime as a direct result of his own policies.”
But it’s not just Pritzker. Trump took the opportunity to roast the rest of the Democratic leadership Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi drawing laughs while delivering hard truths about the damage their policies have done to the country.
It’s vintage Trump humor, grit, and no patience for political correctness when lives are at stake.
While the Left obsesses over tone and feelings, Trump continues to do what he’s always done speak plainly about the problems Democrats refuse to confront. The turkey pardon may have been the occasion, but the message was clear: 2026 can’t come fast enough.
