Trump Administration Halts Five Wind Projects Citing National Security Threats
With military radar and energy reliability at risk, Trump makes clear America’s safety comes before green special interests.

The Trump administration just took a bold step to protect American national security and once again exposed the dangerous consequences of the radical green energy agenda.
On Monday, the Interior Department announced a pause on five major offshore wind turbine projects located along the East Coast, citing growing concerns over national security. According to the department, the massive spinning blades and reflective towers interfere with critical military radar systems, creating dangerous blind spots and operational vulnerabilities for U.S. defense.
“The prime duty of the United States government is to protect the American people,” said Interior Secretary Doug Burgum. “This action addresses emerging national security risks, including the rapid evolution of adversary technologies.”
The affected wind projects include:
Vineyard Wind 1 (off New England)
Revolution Wind (off New England)
Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind
Sunrise Wind (off New England)
Empire Wind 1 (off New York)
Let’s be clear: these projects don’t just risk national security—they’re a terrible deal for American energy independence. Secretary Burgum bluntly noted that “ONE natural gas pipeline supplies as much energy as these five projects COMBINED.”
And yet, Democrat leaders like New York Governor Kathy Hochul are melting down, accusing the Trump administration of attacking “clean energy” and so-called “good-paying jobs.” What she fails to mention is that these offshore wind projects are only viable with massive taxpayer subsidies and are less efficient, more expensive, and more unreliable than traditional sources like natural gas or nuclear power.
This isn’t just about wind turbines. It’s about common sense versus green delusion:
Wind and solar account for less than 15% of U.S. energy production, despite hundreds of billions in subsidies over the past decade.
Natural gas accounts for over 40%—reliable, affordable, American.
The average offshore wind project costs $3,000 per kilowatt, while natural gas comes in under $1,000, according to DOE data.
President Trump has been one of the few national leaders willing to speak bluntly about the failures of green energy. He has repeatedly denounced wind power as “an economic and environmental disaster” and slammed both wind and solar as scams that drive up electricity prices while making the U.S. energy grid more vulnerable.
In his words “The days of stupidity are over in the USA!!!”
That’s exactly the attitude needed to confront a reckless energy agenda that favors virtue signaling over reality. While China and Russia expand coal and nuclear production, Democrats are trying to plant giant pinwheels in the ocean that confuse our own radar systems.
The Trump administration’s pause is more than justified—it’s a reminder that protecting America’s borders, energy grid, and military superiority comes before pushing leftist climate fantasies.
This is what putting America First actually looks like.
