Trump Files $15 Billion Lawsuit Against New York Times for Defamation

President c is taking the fight to the corporate media again. On Monday, Trump announced a $15 billion defamation and libel lawsuit against The New York Times, accusing the paper of acting as a “mouthpiece” for the Radical Left and interfering in the 2024 election.

Filed in federal court in Florida, the lawsuit targets three articles and a book published by Times reporters prior to the 2024 election. Trump argues that these pieces were not only blatantly false, but were also intentionally malicious and designed to damage his reputation, hurt his business, and sabotage his campaign.

“Today, I have the Great Honor of bringing a $15 Billion Dollar Defamation and Libel Lawsuit against The New York Times, one of the worst and most degenerate newspapers in the History of our Country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It’s been allowed to freely lie, smear, and defame me for far too long and that stops, NOW!”

The lawsuit doesn’t stop with The New York Times. Trump is also suing:

• Penguin Random House, the publisher of the book Lucky Loser: How Donald Trump Squandered His Father’s Fortune and Created the Illusion of Success

• The authors of the three defamatory articles

• And other unnamed collaborators involved in what Trump calls a “decades-long pattern of intentional and malicious defamation”

The three articles cited in the suit include:

Trump’s legal team argues that these pieces represent “the single largest illegal Campaign contribution, EVER,” and were crafted to:

• Sabotage the 2024 campaign

• Bias judges and juries against Trump in ongoing legal matters

• Mislead the public about his business and political record

The lawsuit goes further, suggesting that The New York Times and its backers “simply ignored their breach of journalistic ethics” because attacking Trump advanced the political goals of the Democrat Party.

This isn’t Trump’s first battle with the corporate press but it may be his largest. The former president has already won millions in defamation settlements against ABC News and CBS/Paramount, and he is currently pursuing a case against The Wall Street Journal for falsely linking him to Jeffrey Epstein.

And let’s be clear: Trump’s legal war on the media is striking a chord with Americans.

Recent polling shows:

• 72% of voters believe major news outlets intentionally mislead or misinform

• 65% of independents say the media has “too much influence” over elections

• Only 34% of Americans trust the media to report the news “fully, accurately, and fairly”

The lawsuit also zeroes in on The Times’ front-page endorsement of Kamala Harris during the 2024 campaign something Trump called “unheard of” and more fitting for a DNC press release than a legacy newspaper.

Trump’s message is loud and clear. If the media lies, they will be held accountable.

This isn’t just about his name it’s about the erosion of journalistic standards, the blatant collusion between legacy outlets and Democrat operatives, and the weaponization of disinformation under the guise of “free press.”

For decades, The New York Times has portrayed itself as the gold standard of journalism. In reality, it’s become little more than a partisan propaganda mill, hiding behind the First Amendment to push anti-Trump narratives and radical ideology.

Trump’s lawsuit has the potential to become a landmark case one that could force the mainstream media to answer for their lies and finally face the consequences of their decades-long smear machine.
