Trump Orders Immediate Resumption of U.S. Nuclear Weapons Testing

After meeting with Xi, Trump cites Russian and Chinese escalations as reason to reassert American dominance.

President Donald Trump has once again reminded the world what real leadership looks like on the global stage. Following a high-stakes meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump announced that the United States will immediately resume nuclear weapons testing a bold move aimed at ensuring the U.S. maintains military superiority amid rising threats from China and Russia.

In a post on Truth Social Wednesday night, Trump made the announcement clear: “The United States has more Nuclear Weapons than any other country. This was accomplished, including a complete update and renovation of existing weapons, during my First Term in office... Because of other countries’ testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis.”

This is not posturing. It’s necessary national defense.

  • Russia has openly resumed long-range nuclear missile tests, including the recent launch of the Burevestnik cruise missile, which reportedly flew 8,700 miles in 15 hours.

  • China is ramping up its nuclear arsenal, with Pentagon estimates suggesting Beijing will match or surpass the U.S. in nuclear stockpiles within five years.

  • The U.S. hasn’t conducted full-scale nuclear testing since 1992, despite other nuclear powers moving full steam ahead.

“I HATED to do it, but had no choice,” Trump told reporters. “They’re testing. We’re not. That stops now.”

Speaking aboard Air Force One, Trump made clear that the U.S. is done sitting on the sidelines. “We have more than anybody,” he said. “And I see them testing. I say, well, they’re testing, we have to test too.”

When asked whether renewed testing could destabilize the global balance of power, Trump pushed back: “I don’t think so. I think we have it pretty well locked up.”

This is classic Trump: peace through strength, not weakness. Under his leadership, nuclear deterrence isn’t just theoretical it’s operational. And in today’s world, where authoritarian regimes are emboldened under weak globalist leadership from the Biden administration, a show of force is exactly what America needs.

During the same flight, Trump also addressed Russia’s aggression and missile testing, reminding reporters that the U.S. has a nuclear submarine stationed “right off their shores.” In Trump’s words, “We’re not playing games with them either.”

He added, pointedly, “You ought to get the war ended. A war that should have taken one week is now in its soon fourth year.” He’s not wrong Biden’s failure in Ukraine has become a long, bloody disaster, and Moscow isn’t feeling any pressure to stop.

None of this would be necessary if the Biden administration hadn’t let America’s global standing erode. Under Biden:

  • Military readiness has taken a backseat to woke ideology

  • China’s aggression in the South China Sea has intensified

  • Russia has tested NATO repeatedly without consequence

Trump’s return to assertive military policy is a stark and welcome contrast. While Biden dithers and hopes for diplomacy, Trump is sending a message the world understands: America will not be outgunned.

And for those wringing their hands over “escalation,” Trump offered a reminder that he’s still open to denuclearization talks but only from a position of strength. “We’re actually talking to Russia about that, and China would be added to that if we do something,” he said.

Strength is the only language adversaries respect and Trump is fluent.
