Trump Announces Israel Hamas Peace Deal to End Gaza War
Hostages to be released, IDF to withdraw as Trump brokers first phase of historic Middle East peace agreement.

President Donald Trump has once again done what the so-called “experts” said was impossible brokered a peace deal in the Middle East. On Wednesday, Trump announced that both Israel and Hamas have signed off on the first phase of his administration’s comprehensive peace plan, which aims to end the two-year war in Gaza, bring home hostages, and begin the long path toward regional stability.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump shared the historic breakthrough:
“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first Phase of our Peace Plan. This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace.”
He went on to call it a “GREAT Day for the Arab and Muslim World, Israel, all surrounding Nations, and the United States of America,” thanking the mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey for helping make the deal possible.
The terms of the first phase of the agreement include:
The release of 20 living Israeli hostages by Hamas within 72 hours of the deal's approval
The repatriation of 28 deceased hostages, depending on Hamas’ ability to recover their remains
A 24-hour deadline for Israel to pull back its military from central Gaza to a predetermined line
A prisoner exchange, with hundreds of Palestinian detainees to be released by Israel
A commitment to begin work on a transitional plan for peace and reconstruction in Gaza
Israeli negotiators are expected to present the finalized plan to the cabinet for formal approval on Thursday. Once the cabinet gives its green light, the timeline for both hostage release and IDF withdrawal begins.
According to the Associated Press, Hamas agreed to the initial terms but has expressed concerns about its ability to locate and return all of the dead hostages a key sticking point in final negotiations.
Meanwhile, Trump confirmed to Axios that he plans to travel to Israel in the coming days and may deliver a speech to the Knesset a momentous move that would make him the first U.S. president to do so in nearly 20 years. President George W. Bush last addressed the Israeli parliament in 2008.
Behind the scenes, the deal has been pushed by key figures in the Trump orbit, including longtime peace architect Jared Kushner and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. Negotiations took place in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh, with dignitaries from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey present.
One particularly symbolic moment came when Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani shook hands with Israeli negotiator Maj. Gen. Nitzan Alon just weeks after an Israeli airstrike targeted Hamas leadership in Doha.
A White House official confirmed to CBS News that once Israel's cabinet approves the deal, IDF forces must withdraw within 24 hours, initiating the process to fully implement the first phase of Trump’s peace plan.
This deal did not come from years of empty speeches at the UN or from the Biden administration’s parade of broken promises. It came from strength, leverage, and bold leadership. Trump made it clear: agree to peace, or face full military backing for Israel’s campaign. Hamas blinked.
While the mainstream media tiptoe around calling this a “historic” moment, the facts speak for themselves:
Over 30,000 people have died since the war began in October 2023.
The October 7 attack was the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.
Joe Biden failed to secure a single meaningful concession or hostage release during his presidency.
Now, thanks to Trump, the tide is finally turning.
This deal may only be the beginning, but it’s a giant first step toward real peace in the region. With Trump set to lead from the front and likely returning to the White House in 2025 the world is once again remembering what true American leadership looks like.
