House Rejects Democrat's Latest Trump Impeachment Stunt Over Iran Strike
Over 120 Democrats join Republicans to crush Rep. Al Green’s desperate resolution.

In a massive rebuke of yet another baseless impeachment effort, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted to table Rep. Al Green’s (D-TX) resolution to impeach President Donald Trump over his military strike on Iranian nuclear facilities. The vote wasn’t even close: 344–79, with over 120 Democrats refusing to back Green’s political theater.
Green’s latest attempt his fifth impeachment resolution against Trump since his first term accused the president of violating the War Powers Clause by ordering strikes on Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan without first seeking approval from Congress.
Green’s justification? “I do it because I love my country,” he claimed. But his resolution quickly fell apart, especially after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Trump had informed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and attempted to contact House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries before the attack.
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) defended Trump’s actions and leadership during a time of imminent threat.
“Leaders in Congress were aware of the urgency,” Johnson said. “The Commander-in-Chief evaluated that the imminent danger outweighed the time it would take for Congress to act.”
Key takeaways from the vote:
128 Democrats joined 216 Republicans to stop the impeachment effort.
Only 79 Democrats supported moving forward with the resolution.
Representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar voted to impeach and were directly called out by Trump on Truth Social: “MAKE MY DAY.”
This is nothing new for Green, whose long list of impeachment stunts spans claims of bigotry, transphobia, and now, defending America from a nuclear-armed Iran. Earlier this year, Green was censured for disrupting Trump’s address to Congress his fellow Democrats responded by singing “We Shall Overcome” on the House floor.
The National Republican Congressional Committee didn’t mince words after the vote:
“128 Democrats just hid their beliefs and voted to table impeachment, clearly too scared to be honest and too weak to lead.”
This resolution proves what conservatives have warned for years: Democrats aren’t interested in defending the Constitution they’re obsessed with weaponizing it to take down Trump at any cost. Meanwhile, real issues like inflation, border security, and crime continue to fester under their watch.
Trump acted to protect national security. The House, including many in the president’s opposition, just made clear: this wasn’t an abuse of power it was leadership.
