Trump ICE Policies Smeared by Leftist Media Lies

Tom Homan, former acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and now one of Trump’s top border advisors, isn’t pulling any punches when it comes to the media’s role in twisting the truth about immigration enforcement. On Thursday, he made it clear: the Trump administration needs to sharpen its messaging to cut through the tidal wave of disinformation being pumped out by the legacy press.

In a sharp rebuke to recent polling numbers suggesting slipping support for Trump’s immigration policies, Homan told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham that this backlash is media-manufactured nonsense.

“There’s a lot of false media out there,” Homan stated. “We need to be better at messaging at what we’re doing... 70% of everybody arrested is a criminal. We need to start advertising that every single day.”

That figure isn’t minor. It demolishes the tired left-wing talking point that ICE is targeting “innocent families.” In reality, the overwhelming majority of deportation targets have committed serious crimes something most Americans support being enforced. In fact, a 2023 Harvard/Harris poll found that 63% of Americans back mass deportations of illegal immigrants including a surprising 42% of Hispanic voters.

Here’s what’s really going on:

• Leftist agitators are being emboldened by Democrat leadership. Following a tragic ICE-related incident, protesters in Minnesota encouraged by Democrat Gov. Tim Walz have been stalking and interfering with federal agents.

• ICE officers are under attack. In a shocking incident last week, an ICE agent shot a Venezuelan illegal in self-defense after being assaulted by a group of three illegal immigrants. The mob response? Throwing fireworks at law enforcement and vandalizing federal vehicles.

• Homan is calling for accountability. He suggested creating a national database of those arrested for obstructing or assaulting ICE agents. His goal? Make their communities, schools, and employers aware of their actions.

“We’ve got to push back the lies,” Homan said. “And we’ve got to be better about getting the facts out there.”

He’s not wrong. The Democrats are no longer hiding their contempt for border enforcement. When governors encourage citizens to surveil ICE agents not criminals, agents it tells you everything you need to know about where their loyalties lie. It’s not with American citizens or legal immigrants, but with lawlessness and chaos.

Meanwhile, President Trump is trying to restore sanity. His efforts to enforce immigration law aren’t just necessary they’re overwhelmingly popular with the silent majority of working Americans. Despite the media circus, Trump’s commitment to mass deportation and securing our borders remains one of the core reasons voters are flocking back to him for 2024.

The bottom line is simple: the Biden administration and their Democrat allies have fueled an anti-ICE narrative that has turned violent. Trump’s team is right to fight back and expose these lies for what they are dangerous propaganda designed to undermine national security.
