Trump Proposes Redirecting $3 Billion From Harvard to Trade Schools

President targets elite university over DEI policies and foreign student controversy, calls for reinvestment in American workers.

President Donald Trump is once again putting America’s workers first this time by proposing to strip Harvard University of $3 billion in federal funding and redirect it to trade schools across the country.

In a series of Truth Social posts on Monday, Trump blasted Harvard as “antisemitic” and accused the elite Ivy League institution of fostering radicalism while failing to cooperate with federal oversight regarding its international student population.

“I am considering taking Three Billion Dollars of Grant Money away from a very antisemitic Harvard, and giving it to TRADE SCHOOLS all across our land,” Trump wrote. “What a great investment that would be for the USA, and so badly needed!!!”

This isn’t just about funding it’s about fairness. While Harvard hoards billions in taxpayer-funded grants, countless Americans can’t afford skills training that leads directly to good-paying jobs. Trade schools often ignored by the D.C. elite are where real economic growth begins.

Here’s why Trump’s plan is gaining traction:

  • Harvard receives over $3 billion in federal funds annually, while trade schools struggle to access meaningful public investment.

  • The Trump administration has frozen contracts worth over $100 million with Harvard and is encouraging federal agencies to cut ties entirely.

  • The General Services Administration is directing agencies to find alternative vendors to Harvard by June 6, unless a critical exception is justified.

The crackdown follows Harvard’s refusal to provide a list of its foreign students, sparking national security concerns. Trump linked the delay to concerns about “radicalized lunatics” who may be admitted under the university’s increasingly controversial diversity and inclusion mandates.

“We are still waiting for the Foreign Student Lists from Harvard… to determine how many radicalized lunatics, troublemakers all, should not be let back into our Country,” Trump said. “Harvard is very slow… probably for good reason!”

Last week, the Department of Homeland Security revoked Harvard’s ability to admit foreign students by pulling its Student and Exchange Visitor Program certification. Harvard immediately sued, and an Obama-appointed judge temporarily blocked the move. But Trump has made it clear: the fight is far from over.

This is just the latest battle in Trump’s war against the corrupt academic-industrial complex that prioritizes leftist indoctrination over merit, skill, and national security. Harvard has been at the center of anti-Israel protests, DEI extremism, and now, an international student scandal that threatens both education standards and American safety.

By shifting billions from bloated ivory towers into programs that train welders, electricians, mechanics, and builders, Trump is doing what career politicians won’t investing in the American worker.

It’s time to stop rewarding elitism and start rebuilding a workforce based on skill, grit, and patriotism.
