Trump Discusses Relocating All Gazans Permanently in Meeting with Netanyahu
The president pushes for a long-term solution, rejecting Gaza as a viable home for its population.
President Donald Trump announced Tuesday during his Oval Office meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he supports permanently relocating the entire population of Gaza, arguing that it is the only path to lasting peace.
Key points from Trump’s statement:
Trump proposes resettling all 1.7 million Gazans in locations where they can "live a beautiful life and not be worried about dying every day."
He insists that Egypt and Jordan will cooperate despite public rejections from their leaders.
Trump rejects Israeli settlements in Gaza, calling the region uninhabitable.
Wealthy nations, including Saudi Arabia, may help build new communities for relocated Gazans.
Trump described Gaza as a “demolition site” where continuous conflict has made life impossible. “You can’t live in Gaza right now,” he stated. “This has been happening for years. It’s all death.”
He added that Gazans remain there only because they have no alternative. “If they had an alternative, they’d much rather not go back to Gaza and live in a beautiful, alternative that is safe.”
Trump reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia is not demanding a Palestinian state in exchange for normalizing relations with Israel, pushing back on media narratives. “Everyone is demanding one thing, and you know what that is? Peace,” he stated.
Netanyahu, who became the first world leader to visit Trump in his second term, continues to navigate domestic pressures while working with the U.S. to dismantle Hamas and secure the release of hostages. So far, 13 of the 33 hostages slated for release under a U.S.-negotiated deal have returned home, including American citizen Keith Siegel. Seven more Americans remain in captivity.
Trump’s leadership is once again reshaping the Middle East, offering bold solutions that previous administrations were too weak to consider. His commitment to securing peace through strength is making America the dominant force on the world stage once again.
