Trump Made Free Speech Great Again by Dismantling Biden’s Censorship Regime
While the Left weaponized government to police speech, Trump defended the First Amendment with bold, lawful action.

For years, the Left has insisted that Donald Trump is a threat to free speech. But here’s the truth the media won’t touch President Trump has done more to protect the First Amendment than any president in modern history by dismantling the most coordinated censorship machine America has ever seen.
While Joe Biden’s administration quietly built a government-backed speech-policing apparatus to manipulate public opinion, especially before elections, Trump did what no one else would: he tore it down.
Let’s get one thing straight the Biden administration wasn’t “fighting misinformation.” It was suppressing lawful political speech through an elaborate web of federal agencies, private contractors, and social media pressure campaigns. The goal? Control the narrative. Tilt the field. Silence dissent.
MRC Free Speech America exposed just how far the regime went:
Federal “switchboards” directed social platforms to throttle, shadowban, or delete thousands of lawful posts.
Intelligence agencies partnered with nonprofits to create a veneer of independence while delivering government censorship demands.
Government agencies pressured Big Tech into pre-election narrative control, all under the pretense of national security.
This wasn’t hypothetical censorship. It was real, illegal, and strategic.
And it wasn’t just happening online. NPR, PBS, and taxpayer-funded institutions violated objectivity requirements while taking public money. Universities allowed activist mobs to riot under the guise of “free expression.” And federal contractors assumed they could push political agendas without accountability.
Trump changed that.
While the media wailed that he was “breaking norms,” Trump was enforcing laws that no one else had the courage to uphold. He didn’t just complain about liberal bias — he took action:
He ended taxpayer handouts to public broadcasters who refused to follow the rules.
He empowered agencies like the FCC to hold media and telecom giants accountable.
He restored law and order on campuses that had become breeding grounds for violent, left-wing agitation masquerading as speech.
And most importantly, he shut down Biden’s censorship pipeline through executive action and leadership that respected the Constitution.
Unlike the elitists at NPR, The New York Times, or The View, Trump understands a basic truth: free speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences, but it absolutely means freedom from government censorship.
The modern Left doesn’t get that. They’ve blurred the lines between illegal behavior and protected expression and then cried “authoritarian” when someone dared to push back.
Here’s the difference:
Trump breaks norms.
The Left breaks laws.
And then they try to gaslight the country into believing the Constitution is the problem.
That’s why Trump’s second inaugural address hit so hard “If we don’t have free speech, then we just don’t have a free country.”
He didn’t just say it. He lived it. He led on it. He acted.
Through personnel, policy, and principle, Trump dismantled the most dangerous threat to civil liberty in a generation Biden’s censorship regime. It wasn’t flashy. It wasn’t symbolic. It was real, constitutional leadership that put the First Amendment first.
No president has done more to restore the sacred ground of free speech in this country. And if the American people give him a third term, there’s no doubt he’ll finish the job.
