Donald Trump Expands Access to IVF in Bold New Executive Order
Trump's Plan Aims to Lower Costs and Support Family Formation.

President Donald Trump has once again demonstrated his commitment to American families with a groundbreaking executive order focused on expanding access to in vitro fertilization (IVF). Signed from Mar-a-Lago, the order seeks to make IVF more affordable and accessible, offering hope to millions of couples struggling with infertility.
The executive order directs the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy to present a list of policy recommendations within 90 days. The focus is on:
Reducing out-of-pocket expenses for IVF treatments.
Addressing policies that artificially inflate IVF costs.
Ensuring public policy supports family formation.
According to the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, a single cycle of IVF in the U.S. costs around $15,000, with some treatments reaching as high as $25,000. By targeting these exorbitant expenses, Trump's order aims to relieve the financial burden on hopeful parents, paving the way for more families to experience the joy of parenthood.
The need is clear. An estimated one in seven couples face infertility challenges, turning their dreams of having children into emotional and financial struggles. Trump's bold action recognizes the significance of family formation and commits to policies that support parents-to-be.
Trump’s move isn’t just about health care it’s about fulfilling promises. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt proudly tweeted, “PROMISES MADE. PROMISES KEPT,” emphasizing Trump's dedication to making fertility treatments more accessible. On the campaign trail, Trump labeled himself the “father of IVF,” underscoring his commitment to making the Republican Party the party of life, family, and growth.
At a Michigan rally, Trump vowed that under his administration, “your government will pay for or your insurance company will be mandated to pay for all costs associated with IVF treatment.” This stance aligns with his pro-family agenda, which also includes tax deductions for newborn expenses to support parents.
While Trump's initiative is largely celebrated, it hasn’t come without controversy. Some conservative circles have raised ethical questions about the disposal of embryos in the IVF process. A 2024 ruling in Alabama brought national attention to this issue when the state’s Supreme Court reinforced the protection of embryonic life. Pro-life advocates argue for more regulation and conscience protections, especially for religious Americans who object to IVF on moral grounds.
In response, the executive order is designed to gather input from stakeholders, including pro-life groups. Trump has shown a willingness to listen, even suggesting he is open to religious exemptions for his proposed IVF mandate. “If there is a religious problem, I think people should go with that. I really think they should be able to do that,” Trump said during an interview with EWTN’s Raymond Arroyo.
Trump's executive order is more than just a policy change it's a statement about the future of American families. By tackling high IVF costs and supporting those struggling with infertility, Trump is delivering on his promise to champion life and family values.
This bold initiative reinforces Trump’s leadership in protecting American families and securing a brighter future for the next generation.
