Trump's Energy Policy Delivers Lowest Labor Day Gas Prices in Five Years
While Biden drove costs through the roof, Trump’s America-first energy agenda is putting real money back in Americans’ pockets.

This Labor Day, American drivers are celebrating more than just a long weekend they're enjoying the lowest holiday gas prices in half a decade.
According to GasBuddy, the national average for gas stands at $3.15 per gallon, the most affordable Labor Day weekend at the pump since 2020. And unlike the artificial price dip during the COVID lockdowns, this drop is driven by something far more powerful: President Donald Trump’s renewed energy dominance agenda.
“Thanks to President Trump fully unleashing American energy dominance, gas prices this summer are at five-year lows and families are saving significant money at the pump,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
In a sharp reversal from the Biden-era war on domestic energy, the Trump administration has slashed red tape, dismantled Green New Deal leftovers, and opened up American production. The result? Relief at the gas station and renewed confidence in U.S. energy independence.
Just look at the facts:
Labor Day 2024: $3.29/gal
Labor Day 2025: $3.15/gal (lowest since 2020)
Labor Day 2023 under Biden: $3.77/gal
The contrast couldn't be clearer. Trump puts America first—Biden put climate lobbyists first.
Energy Secretary Chris Wright emphasized what’s really driving the dip. “President Trump campaigned on lowering costs and this Labor Day weekend, the American people will see the results firsthand at the gas pump.”
The results are not only economic they’re also strategic. Trump’s energy policy isn’t just about cheap gas, it's about national security. By prioritizing domestic production and cutting foreign dependence, the U.S. is no longer held hostage by OPEC, Russian threats, or Chinese-controlled supply chains.
Even industry analysts agree. Patrick De Haan of GasBuddy called this summer the “cheapest summer to hit the road since the pandemic,” and suggested gas prices could dip below $3 a gallon in September.
Meanwhile, under Biden:
The U.S. drained its Strategic Petroleum Reserve to historic lows,
Gas prices surged to over $5 per gallon in some states,
And taxpayers footed the bill for “green energy” scams that did nothing but enrich globalist consultants.
Now, under Trump, Americans are seeing what real energy policy looks like low prices, high jobs, and energy security.
As the Biden administration once again fades into irrelevance, Trump’s America-first policies are producing real wins at the pump, in the economy, and for every family trying to stretch their dollar.
