Trump DOJ Sues Minnesota Over Illegals’ Tuition Benefits

The Trump administration just took another bold step to protect American citizens this time by suing the state of Minnesota for offering taxpayer-funded tuition benefits to illegal immigrants.

Filed by the Department of Justice, the lawsuit challenges Minnesota’s so-called “Dream Act,” a 2013 law that allows illegal aliens to receive in-state tuition and financial aid benefits denied to out-of-state American citizens.

“No state can be allowed to treat Americans like second-class citizens in their own country,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi. “These laws blatantly conflict with federal law and thus are unconstitutional under the Supremacy Clause.”

This comes on the heels of a similar victory in Texas, where the DOJ’s lawsuit led to a permanent injunction against in-state tuition for illegals. “Ending this discriminatory and un-American provision is a major victory for Texas,” said Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Now it’s Minnesota’s turn.

This isn’t just about tuition. It’s about priorities. It’s about fairness. It’s about a nation that puts its own citizens first not illegal immigrants.

President Trump made that clear in March when he signed an executive order directing the DOJ to crack down on any state giving special privileges to those in the country illegally. As Bondi put it, the mission is simple: stop the enforcement of any law that favors illegals over American citizens.

While Democrats like Tim Walz and Keith Ellison continue bending over backwards to coddle lawbreakers, Trump’s DOJ is standing firm. This is about restoring sanity to a system hijacked by open-borders radicals.
