Trump Applauds DeSantis for Preparing Florida to Enforce His Agenda

The Florida governor is leading the charge on border security while other states lag behind.

President-elect Donald Trump praised Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for taking proactive steps to ensure his state is ready to enforce Trump’s immigration agenda as soon as he takes office. DeSantis called for an emergency special session to secure funding for immigration enforcement, making Florida the first state to align itself with Trump’s promised crackdown on illegal immigration.

DeSantis made it clear that Florida will stand with Trump in tackling the border crisis:

  • The state will set aside immediate funding for detention centers, relocation efforts, transportation infrastructure, and law enforcement support.

  • Florida will actively assist federal immigration enforcement, ensuring illegal immigrants are swiftly detained and deported.

  • This session, scheduled for January 27 just days after Trump’s inauguration positions Florida as a model for other Republican-led states.

Trump responded enthusiastically, saying, “Thank you Ron, hopefully other Governors will follow!”

Meanwhile, Trump’s team is preparing for an aggressive first day in office. Senate Majority Whip John Barrasso (R-WY) described the incoming administration’s strategy as “shock and awe with executive orders.” Trump’s longtime immigration adviser Stephen Miller confirmed that border enforcement will be a top priority from day one.

Trump’s immigration plan includes:

  • Rebuilding the border wall and constructing new migrant detention facilities.

  • Reinstating Title 42 to rapidly deport illegal migrants.

  • Ending visa-free parole for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans, which has already allowed over 530,000 people to enter the U.S. since Biden took office.

  • Launching mass deportations and giving local law enforcement more power to assist ICE.

With Florida taking decisive action and Trump ready to restore law and order, the question remains: Will other Republican governors step up, or will they sit back and watch the border crisis continue?
