Trump Demands Death Penalty for Killer of Ukrainian Refugee in Charlotte

President Donald Trump is demanding swift and uncompromising justice after the brutal murder of Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee who was stabbed to death in broad daylight aboard a Charlotte light rail train.

“The ANIMAL who so violently killed the beautiful young lady from Ukraine… should be given a ‘Quick’ (there is no doubt!) Trial, and only awarded THE DEATH PENALTY,” Trump posted on Truth Social Wednesday morning. “There can be no other option!!!”

The suspect, Decarlos Brown Jr., has a staggering 14 prior arrests, including armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Despite this record, Brown was repeatedly released back onto the streets a damning indictment of soft-on-crime Democrat policies.

Now, after the gruesome killing was caught on security footage, the Department of Justice has charged Brown with committing an act causing death on a mass transportation system, making him eligible for the death penalty.

The video shows Zarutska sitting calmly before Brown stabbed her three times, including once in the neck. As she collapsed to the floor, blood pooled around her. The suspect then casually walked away, knife still dripping.

Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed the DOJ will pursue the maximum penalty.

“He will never again see the light of day as a free man,” she said.

But Trump didn’t just stop at demanding justice. He blasted Democrats for creating the conditions that allowed this tragedy to happen and rightly so.

“Zarutska’s blood is on the hands of the Democrats who refuse to put bad people in jail,” Trump said.

“North Carolina, and every State, needs LAW AND ORDER, and only Republicans will deliver it!”

Here’s the hard truth:

• Brown had 14 arrests, yet remained free thanks to progressive “reform” policies.

• He had three run-ins with Charlotte police just last year none resulted in jail time.

• Democrat-run cities, from Charlotte to Chicago, continue to let violent offenders roam freely under the guise of "equity" and "compassion."

And where is the mainstream media? Nowhere. Outlets like Axios and POLITICO have chosen to focus on Republican outrage, not the horror of the crime itself or Brown’s extensive rap sheet.

Zarutska fled war-torn Ukraine searching for safety in America. Instead, she found a transit system with no security, a city with no accountability, and a justice system that failed her at every turn.

This isn’t just a North Carolina issue it’s a national crisis. Under Democrat policies, our streets have become crime scenes, and repeat offenders are emboldened to strike again and again.

President Trump is right. This isn’t just about one horrific act it’s about a system that’s broken because of leftist ideology. And until we bring back LAW AND ORDER, tragedies like this will only continue.

Justice for Iryna Zarutska must be swift, and it must be final.
