Trump Administration Cuts Harvard Off From Federal Grants Over Antisemitism and Radicalism
Education Secretary Linda McMahon delivers blistering rebuke of Harvard's woke descent, ending taxpayer funding and threatening its tax-exempt status.

In a stunning blow to America’s most elite Ivy League institution, Education Secretary Linda McMahon announced Monday that the Trump administration is cutting off all federal grants to Harvard University, citing the school’s failure to uphold basic legal standards and its tolerance for antisemitism and radicalism on campus.
“Receiving such taxpayer funds is a privilege, not a right,” McMahon declared in a scathing letter to Harvard President Alan Garber. “Harvard will cease to be a publicly funded institution.”
This move follows months of outrage over Harvard’s unwillingness to rein in extremist student groups, foreign influence, and anti-American messaging. And now, the school’s $2.2 billion in frozen federal funds has turned into a full federal lockout, with the administration declaring no new grants will be provided period.
Harvard, which sits on a tax-free $53.2 billion endowment, will now have to rely on its wealthy donors instead of U.S. taxpayers to bankroll its far-left activism.
McMahon didn’t hold back:
She blasted the school for inviting foreign students who “engage in violent behavior” and “show contempt” for the United States.
She called out Harvard’s embarrassing remedial math curriculum, questioning why such an allegedly elite university needs to teach “low-level mathematics.”
She condemned the hiring of radical leftist failures like Bill de Blasio and Lori Lightfoot to teach leadership.
“Like hiring the captain of the Titanic to teach navigation,” McMahon quipped.
The Trump administration’s crackdown on higher education rot is no longer a threat it’s now reality. The administration had previously warned Harvard that unless it reformed its admissions practices, hiring processes, international student policies, and campus culture, the money would stop. Harvard refused.
Now, not only is Harvard being stripped of future grants, but its tax-exempt status is also under review.
President Trump himself weighed in, calling Harvard a nest of “woke, Radical Left, idiots and ‘birdbrains’” and slamming its disgraced former president for plagiarism and weakness in the face of campus antisemitism.
“Harvard has lost its way,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They’ve turned their back on the country that made them great.”
Harvard has already filed a lawsuit against the administration for what it called “unlawful” actions, but that only highlights the school’s arrogance. Rather than reflect, reform, or comply with federal civil rights laws, Harvard doubled down defending policies that have created an ideological echo chamber hostile to merit, freedom, and Western values.
McMahon ended her letter with a clear message Harvard can run its left-wing fiefdom with its own money not the American people’s.
“You have a $53 billion head start,” she wrote. “Much of which was made possible by the prosperity secured by the United States of America and its free-market system you teach your students to despise.”
The message is clear No more blank checks for radicalism. No more taxpayer-funded indoctrination. No more immunity for elite institutions that hate the country footing their bills.
Harvard’s fall from grace is now complete and it only has itself to blame.
