Trump Speaks For First Time After Assassination Attempt, Calls for Unity
Defiant Trump maintains RNC plans, urges America to unite in the face of adversity.
Former President Donald Trump announced Sunday that he has reversed changes to his travel plans for the 2024 Republican National Convention following an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally. The shooter, identified as a donor to far-left causes, had initially led Trump to consider delaying his trip.
Trump took to social media to declare his decision: “Based on yesterday’s terrible events, I was going to delay my trip to Wisconsin, and The Republican National Convention, by two days, but have just decided that I cannot allow a ‘shooter,’ or potential assassin, to force change to scheduling, or anything else,” Trump posted. “Therefore, I will be leaving for Milwaukee, as scheduled, at 3:30 P.M. TODAY. Thank you! DJT”
Moments later, he added, “UNITE AMERICA!”
Key Points:
Defiant Stand: Trump refuses to let the assassination attempt alter his schedule, maintaining his original plans.
Call for Unity: Trump urges Americans to unite against evil and remain strong in faith.
Convention Plans: Trump will unveil his vice presidential pick during the convention, set to speak in Milwaukee on Thursday.
Trump expressed his gratitude for surviving the attack, attributing his safety to divine intervention. “It was God alone who prevented the unthinkable from happening,” he stated. Emphasizing resilience and defiance, he said, “We will FEAR NOT, but instead remain resilient in our Faith and Defiant in the face of Wickedness.”
Trump also extended his sympathies to the victims of the attack, noting, “Our love goes out to the other victims and their families. We pray for the recovery of those who were wounded, and hold in our hearts the memory of the citizen who was so horribly killed.”
In his message, Trump called for national unity, asserting the importance of standing together against evil forces. “In this moment, it is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win.”
He concluded with an expression of his dedication to the country and its people: “I truly love our Country, and love you all, and look forward to speaking to our Great Nation this week from Wisconsin.”
