Trump Plans to Deport Venezuelans Regardless of Venezuela’s Stance, Says Tom Homan

Tom Homan vows the Trump administration will not back down on illegal immigration enforcement.

President-elect Donald Trump’s incoming border czar, Tom Homan, made it clear over the weekend that the new administration will aggressively enforce deportations even if countries like Venezuela refuse to take back their citizens.

During an interview on CBS News’ Face The Nation, Homan responded to concerns that some nations are refusing to accept deportees. His message was straightforward: under Trump, illegal aliens will be removed from the U.S. one way or another.

Homan pointed to Trump’s first term as proof that the administration will get results where Biden failed:

  • El Salvador refused to take back MS-13 gang members until Trump forced their hand within 48 hours.

  • Mexico resisted the Remain in Mexico policy, but Trump got it done, keeping asylum seekers outside the U.S. while their claims were processed.

  • Trump pushed Mexico to deploy military forces to secure both its southern and northern borders, slowing illegal crossings.

Under Joe Biden, Homan noted, foreign governments openly defied U.S. immigration policy because they knew his administration lacked the strength to enforce consequences.

Venezuela, a country known for refusing to accept deportations, has been sending violent criminals and gang members across the U.S. border in record numbers. Homan made it clear that Trump will not tolerate this.

  • If Venezuela refuses to take back deportees, the administration will find other countries willing to accept them.

  • Venezuelan criminals will be prioritized for deportation starting day one of Trump’s presidency.

  • Public safety is non-negotiable too many American women have been victims of murder, rape, and violent crime at the hands of Venezuelan gang members.

Homan’s stance underscores a dramatic shift from Biden’s weak border policies. Trump is set to restore law and order, ensuring that no country dictates U.S. immigration enforcement.
