Trump Slams Biden and Harris Over Arlington Cemetery Incident

The Biden-Harris administration faces more scrutiny as the Afghanistan withdrawal remains a stain on their legacy.

Former President Donald Trump called reports of a confrontation at Arlington National Cemetery a “made up story” designed to distract from the Biden-Harris administration’s botched withdrawal from Afghanistan. Trump's remarks come after NPR published claims of a verbal and physical altercation between Trump’s campaign staff and cemetery officials during a solemn wreath-laying ceremony to honor the 13 U.S. service members killed in Kabul.

“There was no conflict or ‘fighting’ at Arlington National Cemetery last week. It was a made up story by Comrade Kamala and her misinformation squad,” Trump posted on social media. “She made it all up to make up for the fact that she and Sleepy Joe have BLOOD ON THEIR HANDS for the INCOMPETENT AFGHANISTAN Withdrawal – THE MOST EMBARRASSING DAY IN U.S. HISTORY!!!”

Trump’s campaign also pushed back, labeling the story as a fabrication to distract from the real scandal—the Biden administration's failure in Afghanistan. The disastrous withdrawal, which left 13 brave American service members dead, remains a sore point for many, especially Gold Star families.

  • Trump highlighted the absence of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris from the ceremony, stating they were instead “on a beach or studying for a debate.”

  • Gold Star mother Kelly Barnett, who lost her son in Afghanistan, confirmed that both Biden and Harris were repeatedly invited to the event but chose not to attend.

  • Despite White House claims that the president and vice president were never invited, Barnett insisted, “They knew it would be in their best interest to be there, and they refused to attend.”

The NPR report, which Trump blasted as false, claimed the altercation occurred when a cemetery official tried to prevent Trump’s staff from photographing in an area where recent U.S. casualties are buried. The Trump campaign refuted this, stating that an unnamed individual, possibly suffering from a “mental health episode,” had blocked the staff during the ceremony. The photographer, according to Trump’s team, had been permitted on the grounds.

The controversy surrounding the Afghanistan withdrawal refuses to die down, as Republicans continue to demand accountability for what many have called a national embarrassment. Biden’s disastrous handling of the withdrawal left thousands of Afghans in peril and emboldened the Taliban, while also undermining America’s credibility on the global stage.

Americans have not forgotten the images of chaos at Kabul airport U.S. military equipment abandoned, Afghans clinging to departing planes, and the lives of 13 U.S. service members senselessly lost. The incompetence that unfolded during this withdrawal cannot be ignored, and no fabricated story will erase the Biden administration’s culpability.

The American people deserve leaders who will take responsibility for their failures, not concoct distractions to cover up the truth. As the 2024 election looms, it’s clear the stakes are higher than ever. The choice between continued weakness under the current administration or restoring America’s strength and dignity couldn’t be clearer.
