Among the orders Trump plans to sign is a significant decision concerning the Chinese-owned social media platform TikTok. Trump announced his intention to temporarily delay enforcement of a ban on the app to give its parent company, ByteDance, more time to divest and comply with national security legislation.

“I’m asking companies not to let TikTok stay dark,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “I will issue an executive order on Monday to extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security.”

The move signals a strategic approach to addressing concerns over foreign influence while safeguarding American users from potential vulnerabilities.
