Tom Homan Criticizes Jerry Nadler Over Remarks on Anti-ICE Attacks

President Donald Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan blasted Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) this week, calling him a “buffoon” after Nadler pretended to be unaware of the alarming surge in violent attacks against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. Homan accused Democrats of openly encouraging hostility toward law enforcement officers tasked with securing America’s borders.

The exchange was sparked by a Fox News segment on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” where correspondent Johnny Belisario questioned lawmakers about the recent rise in assaults targeting ICE. When Belisario asked Nadler about the attacks, the congressman dismissively replied, “What attacks on ICE agents?”

Homan fired back, saying Nadler knows exactly what’s going on. “This buffoon knows exactly what attacks his party is the one encouraging them,” Homan said. “ICE agents are facing an 830% increase in assaults because of smears from the left. Their words have consequences. We won’t let them pretend they don’t.”

Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA), who was also interviewed, dodged the question by blaming ICE agents themselves, claiming they were “terrorizing” communities an accusation Homan and other law enforcement officials have strongly rejected.

The surge in violence against ICE agents is no accident, according to Trump’s Rapid Response Team, which recently highlighted how left-wing rhetoric and calls to “abolish ICE” have emboldened extremists to attack officers.

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin addressed the disturbing statistics:

• ICE officers are facing an unprecedented rise in violent threats and assaults up 830% in recent years.

• Many agents are targeted simply for enforcing existing immigration laws and removing dangerous criminals.

• Rhetoric from “gutter politicians” is actively inspiring hostility toward federal law enforcement.

“Brave ICE law enforcement are risking their lives every day to keep our communities safe from the worst of the worst criminals,” McLaughlin said. “It is reprehensible that our officers are facing this threat while simply doing their jobs and enforcing the law.”

This latest dust-up highlights the sharp contrast between Democrats’ soft stance on illegal immigration and the Trump administration’s unwavering commitment to law enforcement. Homan’s fiery response serves as a reminder that border security remains one of the most explosive issues dividing Washington.
