Texas AG Paxton Launches Probe Into Alleged ‘Sharia City’ Development
“You obey America’s laws” State investigates Dubai-linked land project amid concerns of foreign takeover.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton isn’t pulling punches when it comes to defending American law and Texas land.
On Monday, Paxton announced a formal investigation into a massive development project in Kaufman, Texas, linked to a Dubai-based company that has sparked national concern over whether foreign nationals plan to establish a “sharia city” in the heart of America.
“There will be no ‘sharia city’ in Texas under my watch,” Paxton declared. “While you’re on American soil, you will obey America’s laws.”
The project, spearheaded by the American subsidiary of SEE Holdings, has reportedly involved the purchase of thousands of acres outside Dallas and could involve plans to bring in as many as 20,000 foreign nationals, according to reports.
Let that sink in: A foreign company based in the Middle East is purchasing Texas land for a project shrouded in secrecy and possibly religious governance completely at odds with the U.S. Constitution.
Kaufman Solar, a Delaware-based LLC tied to the land deals, is now under scrutiny. Paxton has ordered the companies involved to produce documentation on:
Communications with city or state officials
The relationship between SEE Holdings and Kaufman Solar
The nature and scope of the planned development
Texas Rep. Lance Gooden (R-TX), who was contacted by SEE Holdings, confirmed that he made it clear: “No mosques. No religious schools. No foreign communities.” He added that if the developers were from New York, there’d be less concern but originating from Dubai raised red flags.
“They’re going to have to actively involve the community to get buy-in,” Gooden said. “And that has yet to happen.”
And that’s the crux of the issue this isn’t about paranoia, it’s about transparency and sovereignty.
It’s not the first time Paxton has had to step in. Just last year, his office sued to stop the construction of EPIC City, another so-called “planned Muslim community” in northern Texas. That case involved alleged violations of state securities law, and Paxton warned again:
“I will relentlessly bring the full force of the law against anyone who thinks they can ignore the rules and hurt Texans.”
With federal leaders asleep at the wheel and the Biden administration more interested in appeasing global interests than protecting American soil, it’s fallen to state officials like Paxton to do the heavy lifting.
Meanwhile, House Republicans have launched the “Sharia Free America Caucus,” warning that Islamic law is fundamentally incompatible with the U.S. Constitution. For many, these so-called “sustainable communities” are not just about solar panels and green energy they’re trojan horses for religious legal systems and foreign influence.
Here’s what this means in plain terms:
America’s enemies don’t need to invade. They just buy land and build enclaves.
Without strong state leadership, foreign governments and ideologies can plant roots inside our borders.
What starts as a “development” could quickly turn into a no-go zone for American law.
Texas is sending a message: If you want to live here, you follow our laws, speak our language, and respect our Constitution not the laws of foreign clerics 7,000 miles away.
