Authorities Launch Deportation Operations in Colony Ridge, Aiming at Criminals and Illegal Immigrants

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced a large-scale deportation operation targeting the controversial Colony Ridge development, a sprawling 60-square-mile area just north of Houston that has become a notorious magnet for illegal immigrants. The operation, led by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), aims to crack down on criminals and illegal aliens who have made Colony Ridge their base of operations.

“Colony Ridge is being targeted today,” Abbott confirmed on X (formerly Twitter). “Texas DPS Troopers & Special Agents are assisting Homeland Security Investigations with an operation in Colony Ridge this morning.” The governor emphasized that the focus is on “targeting criminals & illegal immigrants”, revealing that this effort has been in the works for months in collaboration with former ICE Director Tom Homan.

• A Troubled History: The Colony Ridge development has been under scrutiny since 2023 when investigative reports exposed its marketing strategies designed to attract illegal immigrants. The scheme encouraged buyers by allowing land purchases without a Social Security number, luring them with the promise to “own land in the United States.”

• Crime Central: Past raids at Colony Ridge led to the arrest of dangerous criminals, including an El Salvadoran illegal alien wanted for murder, multiple murder suspects sought by International Police, and a Guatemalan human smuggler connected to a “mass casualty event.” Most recently, authorities arrested a previously deported illegal alien found with 344 pounds of meth hidden in his trailer.

• Protecting Texas Land: In response to the scandal, State Representative Janis Holt introduced legislation to track foreign buyers of Texas land. The proposed law would create a system to monitor property sales, allowing the state to identify illegal aliens purchasing American real estate.

This isn't the first operation at Colony Ridge. Shortly after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, a similar raid yielded significant arrests. The development’s history of harboring criminals highlights the urgent need for Abbott’s new enforcement measures.

Governor Abbott’s decisive action stands in stark contrast to the Biden administration’s lax immigration policies, which allowed this crisis to flourish. As Trump’s administration focuses on restoring “law and order,” Texas is taking the lead in protecting American communities and maintaining the rule of law.
