Ted Cruz Warns New Yorkers of Chaos if Socialist Zohran Mamdani Wins Mayor’s Race

Senator Ted Cruz is sounding the alarm about what he calls a looming disaster for New York City if Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani a self-described democratic socialist wins the upcoming mayoral election.

During the latest episode of his podcast “Verdict,” Cruz didn’t mince words, warning that a Mamdani administration would accelerate the city’s decline and destroy what’s left of its economy.

“Look, Comrade Mamdani is apparently the future of the Democrat Party,” Cruz said. “The Democrat Party is now explicitly, openly, unapologetically communist and unapologetically jihadist.”

Cruz said he wasn’t exaggerating, noting that Mamdani has openly supported socialist economic policies, including “seizing the means of production” the hallmark of Marxist ideology.

“People are going to die if and when Comrade Mamdani is elected,” Cruz warned bluntly. “That is going to be the concept.”

Cruz, who has long been one of the most vocal defenders of free markets and individual liberty, laid out exactly what he believes would happen if Mamdani takes office:

• Mass exodus of residents and businesses companies and families fleeing oppressive taxation and anti-capitalist regulation.

• Economic collapse as wealthy investors and job creators relocate to business-friendly states like Texas and Florida.

• An inevitable rise in crime and dependency, fueled by policies that reward government control and punish personal success.

Mamdani’s proposals, which include heavy new taxes on both individuals and corporations even those without offices in New York have already raised alarms in the financial sector. Economists warn such a plan would drive up costs, hollow out the city’s tax base, and leave working-class families footing the bill for socialist experiments that never work.

Cruz even joked grimly that U-Haul would be the biggest winner in a Mamdani-run New York:

“He is going to rent more U-Hauls than anyone in history people moving from New York and coming to Texas and Florida. Anyone with any sense is going to get out of this.”

But Cruz’s tone wasn’t just sarcastic it was deeply concerned. He said the Democrats’ willingness to embrace radicals like Mamdani shows just how far the party has veered from the traditional working-class values it once claimed to represent.

“Given the choice between a solidly left-wing Democrat and a full-on communist, it looks like they’ll take the communist every time,” Cruz lamented.

Critics have been warning for months that Mamdani’s extreme economic agenda would all but destroy New York’s already fragile business climate. With the city still struggling to recover from years of mismanagement and population loss, electing a socialist mayor could be the final nail in the coffin.

Cruz concluded with a stark prediction: the chaos that follows would wake up even the most loyal blue voters. “He’s going to make more people join the conservative movement in New York than anyone ever has, once they realize how crazy this is.”

New York is standing at a crossroads one path leads back to sanity and prosperity, the other toward socialism, poverty, and flight. Voters will soon decide which future they want.
