Susie Wiles Fires Back After Vanity Fair Smear as Trump White House Circles the Wagons

Trump's powerhouse chief of staff slams media hit piece as allies defend record-breaking first year of second term.

President Trump’s Chief of Staff Susie Wiles unleashed a fiery rebuke Tuesday following the release of a Vanity Fair profile that attempted to paint her and by extension, the Trump White House as dysfunctional and chaotic. The article, based on selective quotes and “exaggerated” interpretations of interviews, has ignited a political firestorm just as Trump’s administration approaches the one-year mark of his second term.

“The article published early this morning is a disingenuously framed hit piece on me and the finest President, White House staff, and Cabinet in history,” Wiles said in a statement. “Significant context was disregarded and much of what I, and others, said about the team and the President was left out of the story.”

The Vanity Fair piece, authored by left-wing journalist Chris Whipple, zeroed in on a handful of offhand or secondhand remarks allegedly made by Wiles ranging from calling Trump “an alcoholic’s personality” (despite Trump being a lifelong teetotaler) to calling top conservative policy strategist Russ Vought “a right-wing absolute zealot.” But it’s clear Wiles has had enough of media manipulation.

“None of this will stop our relentless pursuit of Making America Great Again!” she declared.

Here’s the reality behind the noise:

  • President Trump’s second administration has already racked up more achievements in 11 months than many presidents do in eight years, according to both Wiles and other senior officials.

  • Wiles has been one of Trump’s most trusted and loyal advisors for over a decade, helping guide both campaigns and governing teams with discipline and focus.

  • The administration remains united behind her, with White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt calling Wiles “an irreplaceable asset to the most successful presidency in modern history.”

While the media is fixated on alleged gossip and secondhand quotes, Trump’s team is driving forward with a clear policy agenda and tight internal coordination a fact even longtime White House veterans have acknowledged.

“Without a doubt, Susie Wiles has led the most effective, efficient, and unified White House and administration second to none,” said former Trump spokesman Harrison Fields.

Even those named in the article came to her defense. Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought, whom Wiles allegedly labeled a “zealot,” praised her leadership as “exceptional” and said she’s always been a “key ally” in delivering for the president.

Let’s call this what it is another orchestrated media hit job this time aimed at kneecapping the woman at the center of Trump’s 2024 comeback operation.

And it’s not the first. From day one, the liberal press has worked overtime to smear anyone in Trump’s orbit, especially those who pose a threat to the progressive status quo. The Left is terrified that Trump is not only back in the Oval Office but also better organized, more focused, and more mission-driven than ever before.

The Vanity Fair piece makes one thing crystal clear they’re running out of options. When they can’t argue against the Trump record on the economy, energy independence, border control, and peace through strength they resort to catty character assassination.

But this team isn’t flinching. Trump’s administration is humming, and Susie Wiles is at the heart of it.

As Wiles herself said “We are not slowing down.”
