On CNN’s State of the Union, Dana Bash asked whether the President was “laying the groundwork” for a scenario in which “President Trump tries to overturn the election, and the result of that could be, God forbid, what we saw after January 6.” CNN’s own transcript records her voice-over: “The president rails against Alaska’s Senate race and asks his Justice Department to intervene.” On ABC’s This Week, Jonathan Karl said the Justice Department was “going to threaten to take action against Alaska if the Republican Dan Sullivan doesn’t win.” NewsBusters says the Sunday shows portrayed the department’s Alaska election litigation as election interference and that Blanche “got absolutely schooled” them in return. HotAir’s David Strom notes Bash tied the lawsuit to overturning the election “with a January 6th callback for good measure.”
