Russia Says Trump Is Misinformed After Calling Putin ‘Absolutely CRAZY’

As Trump slams Putin and Zelenskyy, Russia responds with warnings and denial of Ukraine’s suffering.

The Kremlin is lashing out at President Donald Trump after he accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of going “absolutely CRAZY” and warned that Putin’s ambitions in Ukraine could spell “the downfall of Russia.”

In a defiant statement issued this week, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov insisted Trump is “not being sufficiently informed” about what’s happening in Ukraine. The comments, made during an interview with Russian state media, come as Trump continues to criticize both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, while positioning himself as the only global leader capable of ending the war.

“Trump says a lot of things,” Ryabkov said, according to Turkey’s Anadolu Agency. “But in many ways, we come to the conclusion that Trump is not being sufficiently informed about what is really happening in the context of the Ukrainian-Russian confrontation.”

The Russian official claimed Trump misunderstood Russia’s military operations, which he falsely described as targeting only “military infrastructure” in Ukraine. This claim flies in the face of overwhelming evidence, including hundreds of documented Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian civilian cities, schools, hospitals, and apartment buildings.

Just this month, Ukrainian officials confirmed that Russia launched over 350 kamikaze drones and 9 cruise missiles in a single night, one of the heaviest bombardments since the war began. The attack left cities like Kharkiv and Kyiv in ruins targeting not military installations, but neighborhoods.

Trump, meanwhile, has blasted both sides of the war, saying on Truth Social, “Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever... I’ve always said that [Putin] wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!”

He didn’t spare Zelenskyy either “President Zelenskyy is doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does. Everything out of his mouth causes problems.”

While critics accuse Trump of being too harsh on Ukraine, he has repeatedly emphasized that this war would never have started under his leadership. “This is Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s war not Trump’s,” he wrote. “I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires, that have been started through Gross Incompetence and Hatred.”

Former Defense Intelligence Agency officer Rebekah Koffler warned that the current rhetoric both from Moscow and Western leaders risks dangerous miscalculations. “The rhetoric is very dangerous, and could lead to unintended escalation due to misinterpretation of each other’s intentions,” she said. “Cooler heads must prevail now in Moscow and in Washington or risk catastrophic events.”

Despite Russian officials downplaying their aggression, independent observers and human rights groups have consistently exposed Moscow’s systematic targeting of civilians not “terrorist attacks” from Ukraine as Ryabkov claims, but defensive actions from a nation trying to survive.

Trump’s rebuke of Putin, coupled with his commitment to end the war, underscores the contrast between his foreign policy vision and Biden’s disastrous handling of the conflict. The Biden administration has thrown tens of billions in U.S. taxpayer dollars at Ukraine with no end in sight, all while our own southern border remains wide open and our economy falters.

Trump’s message is clear: peace through strength, accountability through leadership, and no more blank checks for endless foreign wars.
