Violence at Portland ICE Facility Met With ‘Little Help’ From Local Police, Director Says
Nightly violence targets federal officers as city leadership ties law enforcement’s hands, putting public servants and national security at risk.

For over 100 straight nights, federal ICE officers in Portland, Oregon, have faced violent attacks and the city’s leadership is doing virtually nothing to stop it. That’s the warning from Cammila Wamsley, director of Portland’s ICE office, who says her team is under siege while local police have been ordered to stand down.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News, Wamsley laid out a disturbing reality: a federal building being firebombed, officers targeted, and employees doxxed, all while Portland’s mayor and city council allow lawlessness to reign in the name of politics.
“We’ve had rocks thrown through our windows, bottle rockets launched at the building, officers blinded by lasers, and mobs trying to block our vehicles,” Wamsley said. “Yet Portland police rarely show up because they’ve been told not to.”
Here’s what’s happening on the ground:
At least six ICE employees have been doxxed, and some followed to their homes by Antifa-linked extremists.
Crowds escalate from dozens to thousands within minutes, overwhelming the small number of federal officers stationed at the site.
Portland Police are either slow to respond or refuse to respond entirely, citing directives from far-left city leadership.
This isn’t just about public nuisance it’s about a full-scale breakdown of law and order, encouraged by radical activists and enabled by Democrat officials who refuse to support their own law enforcement.
Wamsley emphasized the dangerous double standard: “Six blocks away, Portland police would act. But when it comes to protecting federal agents doing their jobs, they’ve been told to look the other way.”
Even worse, the attacks have escalated from paint and property damage to targeted violence. The recent ICE facility shooting in Dallas, where two detainees were killed, served as a chilling warning. Shell casings left behind were engraved with an “ANTI-ICE” message proof that rhetoric is morphing into deadly action.
Todd Rignel, Assistant Special Agent for Homeland Security Investigations in Oregon, said Antifa-linked groups are actively under investigation by multiple federal agencies, including the FBI, ATF, DEA, and IRS. “They’re not just facing HSI,” he said. “They’re facing a force to be reckoned with.”
And now, President Donald Trump is stepping in again doing the job Democrats refuse to do. He’s announced the deployment of 200 National Guard troops to Portland, specifically to support immigration enforcement and restore security in protest zones.
Let’s not forget: these ICE officers are simply enforcing immigration laws that have existed for decades. They aren’t political pawns. They are public servants under fire in their own country because liberal mayors care more about virtue signaling than public safety.
Wamsley put it plainly: “We show up every day. We do the job. We won’t stop.”
But without support from local authorities, this is more than a city problem. It’s a national security crisis.
When mobs can attack federal property and hunt down officers with impunity, and the police are told to stand down, the rule of law collapses. Portland has become a blueprint for anarchy and it’s spreading.
