Pipe Bomb Suspect’s Family Sued Trump DHS, Worked to Free Illegal Immigrants
Alleged January 6 bomber tied to anti-Trump activism, immigration lawsuits, and racial grievance campaigns.

In a stunning twist that cuts directly against the media’s narrative about January 6, the family of alleged pipe bomber Brian Cole Jr. the man now charged with planting explosives outside both the DNC and RNC headquarters has deep ties to anti-Trump immigration activism, left-wing legal campaigns, and repeated efforts to attack Trump-era policy through the courts.
Newly uncovered documents reveal that Cole Jr. worked for his father’s bail bond company, a business dedicated to freeing illegal immigrants from ICE custody. The company, StateWide Bonding, also sued the Trump administration’s Department of Homeland Security, claiming the government’s immigration enforcement harmed their business.
The court didn’t buy it. In November 2020, just weeks before the alleged bomb plot, the U.S. Court of Appeals dismissed the lawsuit a major blow to the family’s efforts to stop Trump’s immigration crackdown. The case claimed StateWide was being unfairly punished when illegal aliens skipped court and the company couldn’t track them down quickly enough.
“When a bond is breached… Plaintiffs are subjected to a steep financial penalty,” the lawsuit whined. In other words, they wanted the government to let them off the hook when illegal immigrants disappeared.
But that’s just the start.
Later in 2021, Cole’s father held a press conference with radical civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, attacking a Tennessee prosecutor who had dared question the company’s ethics. Crump, known for inflaming racial tensions in high-profile cases, accused the prosecutor of racism. This, despite the fact that a Tennessee appeals court later ruled the sanctions against the company were entirely justified, citing repeated misconduct and false claims in financial disclosures including multiple bankruptcies and tax liens the elder Cole had hidden.
What’s more, Cole Sr. and Jr. operated under various aliases and company names including "Free U Bonds" moving operations from Virginia to Tennessee, and claiming to support illegal immigrants through immigration bonds.
Yet now, the FBI says Brian Cole Jr. planted pipe bombs outside both national party headquarters the night before January 6, 2021. According to court documents, Cole’s cell phone data places him at the scene, and his purchases of bomb-making materials date back as far as 2019 long before any election-related controversy.
So let’s get this straight:
Cole Jr.’s family sued the Trump administration on behalf of illegal immigrants.
They partnered with far-left race activists to accuse law enforcement of “racism” when they were caught violating rules.
They demanded the Biden DOJ investigate anyone questioning their business.
They ran a company financially dependent on helping illegal immigrants escape detention.
And now, Cole Jr. is charged with a politically motivated bomb plot that the media falsely pinned on Trump supporters for years.
The Biden DOJ used cell phone data to jail peaceful protesters over trespassing, yet for years they claimed they couldn’t identify the pipe bomber even as Kamala Harris stood just feet from one of the devices.
Meanwhile, Cole Jr. allegedly began preparing for his crime during the Trump administration, undermining the claim that this was about Trump or the 2020 election. Yet that didn’t stop the Left from weaponizing the incident to smear conservatives as domestic terrorists.
This is exactly why trust in our institutions is collapsing. The people orchestrating chaos aren’t wearing MAGA hats they’re suing Trump, helping illegals, hiding their finances, and playing the race card when caught.
And the media knew it all along.
