Ilhan Omar Attacked With Spray at Town Hall After Calling ICE Agents Murderers

Chaos erupts in Minneapolis as Omar doubles down on anti-ICE rhetoric while defending illegal immigration.

Rep. Ilhan Omar’s latest town hall in Minneapolis erupted into chaos Tuesday night after she was hit with an unknown foul-smelling chemical spray just moments after calling for the resignation of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and accusing ICE agents of committing “murder.”

The event, held in Omar’s home district amid rising tensions over immigration enforcement in the city, quickly spiraled into a scene that showcased just how extreme and divisive her rhetoric has become.

Despite pleas from her staff and supporters to leave the stage after the attack, Omar refused, shouting into the microphone “Please don’t let them have the show... These f----ing a--holes are not going to get away with this.”

Omar, clearly rattled but defiant, returned to the mic and declared:
“We are Minnesota strong and we will stay resilient in the face of whatever they might throw at us.”

And what did she do after the attack? Double down. Omar launched into an anti-ICE tirade, painting the agency and its agents as violent thugs, going so far as to claim they were “beating up teenagers,” “murdering” people in broad daylight, and abducting individuals from their homes and schools without warrants.

“ICE is shooting people in broad daylight, beating up teenagers, spraying tear gas on peaceful protesters… abducting people, shipping them to detention camps… no due process,” Omar ranted.

She then accused ICE of actual murder “Murder… it’s not something that has a statute of limitation.”

This isn’t oversight this is character assassination. And it’s coming from a sitting member of Congress.

At one point, when asked about how local residents could help law enforcement, Omar mocked the idea and quipped “One thing ICE has succeeded in doing is making Minneapolis residents love Minneapolis police.”

You’d think the spray attack might cool the rhetoric, but Omar instead used the opportunity to call her Republican colleagues cowards, demanding they “grow a backbone” and pass the War Powers Resolution, while claiming that federal agents in Minneapolis were behaving like foreign militias terrorizing civilians.

"They don’t want to go through a checkpoint, because that is what they escaped to come to the United States," she claimed, comparing DHS immigration enforcement to authoritarian regimes.

Let’s put this in perspective:

  • Minneapolis has seen violent clashes between federal immigration agents and protesters, some of which have escalated into riots.

  • Omar is using this moment not to calm tensions, but to fan the flames, calling for resignations and impeachment while defending policies that would effectively nullify immigration law.

  • She equated ICE enforcement with militarized brutality, accused agents of murder, and compared immigration checkpoints to war zones.

All while Minnesota remains ground zero for sanctuary city-style resistance and a hub for immigration fraud investigations, including the $250 million “Feeding Our Future” scandal that involved figures connected to Omar’s broader political network.

Meanwhile, 67 people died just miles away in a preventable mid-air crash, and crime continues to skyrocket across the Twin Cities yet Omar’s priority is undermining border enforcement and smearing federal agents doing their job.

If this is the leadership Minneapolis wants, it’s no wonder foreign governments are warning their citizens to avoid the city entirely.

America doesn’t need more chaos, more division, or more unhinged attacks on the men and women tasked with protecting our borders. It needs accountability. And it needs it now.
