NPR Corrects Klobuchar for Calling Trans Shooter 'He'

In the immediate aftermath of the horrifying massacre at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis where two children were killed and 17 others injured the Left-wing media couldn’t resist doing what it does best: policing language, not evil.

During a Wednesday interview with NPR, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) referred to the shooter, Robin Westman, using male pronouns. Westman, a biological male who legally changed names from Robert to Robin in 2019, carried out the attack with three legally purchased firearms before taking his own life at the scene.

Sen. Klobuchar described the shooter as a “madman” and repeatedly used the pronoun “he” when discussing the massacre and the suspected motives, which the FBI has classified as a domestic terrorism and hate crime targeting Catholics.

That’s when NPR stepped in not to emphasize the horrific tragedy, or the two dead children, or the motive behind the hate-fueled massacre but to issue a "gender clarification."

"And just a point of clarification," said NPR host Ailsa Chang, "Sen. Klobuchar referenced the shooter as ‘he.’ Although police have identified a suspect, it's still unclear at this time what that person's gender is or how they identify."

Unclear? According to court records, Robin Westman was born Robert Westman, and the name change in 2019 was filed by the shooter's own mother, stating:

“Minor child identifies as a female and wants her name to reflect that identification.”

Even FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the biological reality, stating plainly that the shooter was “a male born as Robert Westman.”

Yet NPR couldn’t help itself. In a moment when the country was reeling from yet another ideologically driven attack on a Christian institution, the outlet’s primary concern was whether a U.S. senator had correctly guessed the preferred pronoun of a mass murderer.

This is what happens when a culture loses the ability to call evil by its name. While families grieve, and children lie in hospital beds, legacy media platforms like NPR are more interested in defending gender ideology than reporting plain facts.

Let’s be clear:

• The shooter was a biological male, confirmed by both the FBI and court documents.

• He targeted a Catholic school during morning Mass, an act authorities are investigating as a hate crime.

• NPR’s response was to correct a pronoun.

This is more than media malpractice it’s moral bankruptcy.

And it speaks volumes about a system that now prioritizes the feelings of killers over the lives of their innocent victims. NPR, like much of the progressive media, has decided that identity is more sacred than truth even when that identity is weaponized in a murderous assault on children.

When ideology demands we deny biology in the wake of bloodshed, it’s time to ask: How many more tragedies will be ignored, excused, or spun before the truth finally matters again?
