Gavin Newsom’s DEI Land Grab Targets American Farmers
California’s radical reparations scheme threatens property rights, food security, and the heart of rural America.

While Washington remains paralyzed by Chuck Schumer’s shutdown theatrics, the radical Left in California is quietly pushing forward with one of the most dangerous attacks on American agriculture in recent memory.
Governor Gavin Newsom’s California Agricultural Land Equity Task Force has laid out a plan that would strip land from hardworking farmers and redistribute it in the name of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Make no mistake this is not about helping struggling Americans. It’s about punishing people based on skin color, family history, and political ideology, all while handing more power to unelected bureaucrats and woke nonprofits.
The Task Force’s draft report outlines a radical reimagining of land ownership in the state, proposing:
Incentivizing the transfer of public and private farmland to tribal nations, descendants of slaves, and selected minority groups.
Restricting land ownership through local ordinances that would make it illegal for non-minorities to purchase agricultural land.
Encouraging state-backed nonprofits to outbid legacy farmers at auction, then leasing land only to “approved” racial groups.
Offering tax credits, debt forgiveness, and farm conservation grants exclusively to a narrow list of race-based recipients.
And yes — requiring climate-based agricultural practices for the new landowners, embedding even more government control into rural life.
This isn’t progress. It’s race-based land redistribution, straight out of the far-left playbook — and it sets a horrifying precedent for the rest of the country.
California’s agriculture sector isn’t just a local issue — it’s a national concern. The state is the fifth-largest food supplier in the world. What happens there impacts grocery prices, food security, and supply chains from coast to coast.
Newsom’s DEI land grab would:
Destabilize family farms
Inflate food costs for working Americans
Discriminate against farmers based solely on race
And weaponize identity politics against those who feed and clothe the nation
This is why, on December 11, I formally demanded that Governor Newsom abandon this unconstitutional plan. As I wrote in my letter:
“The right to own private property and our nation’s agricultural heritage are an inseparable cornerstone of the American dream... The pursuit of a noble lifestyle in agriculture should transcend the pernicious identity-based politics that only serve to drive division.”
No American regardless of their ZIP code, skin color, or surname should be shut out of the American agricultural dream.
Newsom’s plan reeks of the same elitist contempt for rural America we’ve seen time and again from the Left. The people pushing these ideas aren’t farmers. They don’t know what it means to wake up before dawn, raise livestock, fix machinery, or pray for rain during a drought. They are bureaucrats, activists, and ideologues not builders.
While President Trump is cutting food prices and securing American supply chains, Newsom is busy drafting the blueprint for socialist-style land redistribution under the banner of “equity.”
And don’t think this ends in California. If they succeed here, they’ll push the same scheme at the federal level funneling land, money, and control to woke NGOs and racially exclusive coalitions.
We won’t let it happen.
The American farm is sacred. It is where freedom is grown with sweat, discipline, faith, and family. No radical task force and no coastal elite has the right to rewrite that.
This isn’t just about farmers. It’s about defending the American way of life.
