Netanyahu Sends Powerful Message to Lebanon, Announces Major Strike Against Hezbollah

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sent a strong message to the people of Lebanon this week, urging them to take back their country from Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed terrorist organization that has seized control of Lebanon. As Israel continues its military operations in southern Lebanon to neutralize Hezbollah, Netanyahu reminded the Lebanese people of their nation’s former prosperity and appealed to their desire for peace.

“Lebanon was once known for its tolerance, for its beauty,” Netanyahu said. “Today, it’s a place of chaos, a place of war. Israel withdrew from Lebanon 25 years ago. But the country that actually conquered Lebanon is not Israel. It’s Iran.”

Hezbollah, backed by Iran, has effectively transformed Lebanon into a launchpad for attacks on Israel, turning civilian areas into stockpiles of weapons. Since the terror group joined Hamas in its war against Israel, more than 8,000 missiles have been fired from Lebanon, killing civilians of all backgrounds. Netanyahu stressed Israel’s determination to defend itself: “We’ve decided to do whatever is necessary to return our people safely to their homes. Israel has a right to defend itself. Israel also has a right to win! And Israel will win!”

Netanyahu also revealed a major victory in Israel’s campaign against Hezbollah: the deaths of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and his top replacements. In recent weeks, Israeli forces have decimated Hezbollah’s leadership, eliminating hundreds of senior and mid-level commanders, including Nasrallah’s successor. According to Netanyahu, “Hezbollah is weaker than it has been for many many years.”

The prime minister emphasized that the Lebanese people are at a crossroads. He urged them to reject Hezbollah’s futile war and reclaim their future. “If you don’t, Hezbollah will continue to try to fight Israel from densely populated areas at your expense. Christians, Druze, Muslims Sunnis and Shiites all of you are suffering because of Hezbollah’s futile war against Israel.”

In his direct appeal, Netanyahu asked Lebanese mothers and fathers to consider the future they want for their children. He reassured them that peace and prosperity are still possible if they stand up against Hezbollah’s destructive agenda. “You deserve to restore Lebanon to its days of tranquility; you deserve a Lebanon that is different,” he said.

Netanyahu’s message was clear: the people of Lebanon have a unique opportunity to reclaim their country from the grips of terrorists before they plunge it into further devastation. "Don’t let these terrorists destroy your future any more than they’ve already done," he urged. Lebanon’s future, Netanyahu suggested, lies in the hands of its people, who must decide whether to allow Hezbollah’s war to drag them further into chaos or to embrace a path of peace.
