Netanyahu Defends Musk Against AOC’s Baseless Smear

Israeli Prime Minister calls accusations of a Nazi gesture a false and divisive attack.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came to the defense of Elon Musk on Thursday after far-Left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and other critics falsely accused the billionaire of making a Nazi salute during President Donald Trump’s inaugural celebrations earlier this week.

Musk, who was addressing a crowd at Capitol One Arena, ended his remarks with a gesture while saying, “Thank you. My heart goes out to you.” This benign act was seized upon by Ocasio-Cortez, who went on a tirade during an Instagram livestream.

“I don’t care what Elon Musk is doing behind a presidential seal,” she ranted. “In this country, we hate Nazis. You’re going to do a Sieg Heil from behind the presidential seal? It’s on!”

Netanyahu quickly condemned the accusations, calling them baseless and divisive. “Elon is a great friend of Israel,” Netanyahu stated. “He visited Israel after the October 7 massacre in which Hamas terrorists committed the worst atrocity against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. He has since repeatedly and forcefully supported Israel’s right to defend itself against genocidal terrorists.”

Even the left-leaning Anti-Defamation League (ADL) backed Musk, labeling the claims as a misunderstanding.

“@elonmusk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute,” the ADL said in a statement. “In this moment, all sides should give one another a bit of grace, perhaps even the benefit of the doubt, and take a breath.”

Rather than accepting the ADL’s plea for unity, Ocasio-Cortez attacked the organization for defending Musk. “Just to be clear, you are defending a Heil Hitler salute,” she wrote on social media. “People can officially stop listening to you as any sort of reputable source of information now. You work for them.”

The exchange highlights the growing divide in U.S. politics, with accusations and hysteria taking precedence over facts. Musk’s track record, including his outspoken support for Israel and his condemnation of anti-Semitism, clearly refutes the baseless smears hurled against him.

As Netanyahu noted, “This is a time for unity, not division.” Americans and their leaders would do well to heed that advice.
