Top Trump Impeachment Democrat Jerrold Nadler Retires
After decades in Congress and leading the charge against Trump, Nadler steps aside amid growing pressure for younger, more radical leadership.

After more than three decades in Congress, Rep. Jerrold Nadler a key Democrat behind both Trump impeachment efforts is finally calling it quits.
Nadler, 78, announced he will not seek reelection in 2026, signaling the end of an era marked by endless political theater and partisan warfare. A self-proclaimed warrior against President Trump, Nadler now says he’s stepping aside to make way for a "new generation" of Democrats. Translation: the radicals are taking over.
“Watching the Biden thing really said something about the necessity for generational change in the party,” Nadler said, with no sense of irony, given Biden's own glaring cognitive decline and disastrous presidency.
Let’s be clear Nadler didn’t just wake up one day and decide to pass the baton. The pressure’s been mounting for a while:
He lost his powerful post on the House Judiciary Committee earlier this year as Democrats push for younger, more progressive leadership.
His district in Manhattan is deeply blue, but he was expected to face stiff primary challenges from younger, far-left candidates.
And let's not forget he’s spent the last several years trying (and failing) to take down President Trump.
Nadler helped lead both impeachment trials against Trump in 2019 and 2021 both of which ended in acquittals and only served to further divide the country. He was one of the faces of the Democratic obsession with trying to delegitimize the 45th president, and he’s walking away at a time when Trump’s popularity among voters is surging again.
According to recent polls, 64% of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction under Joe Biden. Inflation remains high, violent crime is up in Democrat-run cities, and the southern border is in chaos. Meanwhile, Nadler and his allies spent years grandstanding instead of governing.
The truth is, Nadler’s departure reflects a growing civil war inside the Democratic Party a battle between the aging establishment and the new socialist wing. Unfortunately, that new generation isn’t offering anything better. If anything, they’re more extreme, more reckless, and even more hostile to traditional American values.
And while Nadler's seat will almost certainly remain blue it’s Manhattan, after all his exit underscores just how unstable the Democratic Party has become. As more senior figures are pushed aside to make room for AOC-style radicals, voters across the country are waking up to the consequences of far-left leadership.
Meanwhile, Republicans are gaining ground elsewhere. Texas is on the verge of redrawing its congressional map, potentially adding up to five new GOP seats. Other states may follow suit, shifting the balance of power ahead of the 2024 elections.
And make no mistake the writing is on the wall. The American people are fed up with the chaos, the corruption, and the incompetence of this Democrat-led government. Nadler’s retreat is just the latest sign of a party in disarray, and it couldn’t come at a better time for the conservative movement.
Let’s keep the momentum going.
