FBI Serves Subpoenas to Walz and Minnesota Democrats in ICE Obstruction Probe

The Biden administration may be playing political games in D.C., but in Minnesota, the FBI just dropped a bombshell. Multiple top Democrats including Governor Tim Walz, Attorney General Keith Ellison, and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey have been hit with federal criminal subpoenas over allegations of interfering with ICE operations.

According to Fox News’ Bill Melugin, six government offices in the state have been subpoenaed so far. Sources confirmed that the FBI personally served the subpoenas, demanding records and internal communications related to possible obstruction of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in the state.

Frey’s office confirmed they received a subpoena, while Governor Walz took the opportunity to lash out at the investigation branding it “political theater.” In a Tuesday statement, Walz accused the Department of Justice of pushing a “partisan distraction” in the wake of public outcry over the killing of Renee Good a suspect shot by an ICE officer after allegedly attempting to ram him with her vehicle.

“But let me be absolutely clear: The State of Minnesota will not be drawn into political theater,” Walz declared. “Minnesotans are more concerned with safety and peace rather than with baseless legal tactics aimed at intimidating public servants.”

Translation: he’s not going down without a fight.

Attorney General Keith Ellison, meanwhile, is taking the heat as a reason to double down. Announcing a run for a third term on the same day the subpoenas were revealed, Ellison posted, “As the federal government targets Minnesota, I’m staying in this race to defend our state.”

The federal investigation comes amid ICE’s Operation Metro Surge a sweeping crackdown that’s already netted over 3,000 criminal illegal aliens in just the past six weeks. Among them are murderers, child predators, and violent felons who had been roaming freely under the watch of local Democrat leaders.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem didn’t mince words:

“We have arrested over 10,000 criminal illegal aliens who were killing Americans, hurting children, and reigning terror in Minneapolis because Tim Walz and Jacob Frey refuse to protect their own people and instead protect criminals.”

She continued, “This is a huge victory for public safety.”

The case gained national attention after the fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE officer, who DHS reports suffered internal injuries after Good allegedly tried to run him over with her vehicle. Predictably, left-wing activists in Minneapolis didn’t wait for the facts they launched days of protests and even disrupted a church service, accusing a pastor of collaborating with ICE.

This is what law enforcement now faces in blue-run cities: public servants trying to keep Americans safe, while Democrat leaders bend over backwards to protect criminal illegals and score political points with their activist base.

With Walz already tainted by fraud scandals and refusing to seek re-election, and Ellison now under federal scrutiny, the stakes are higher than ever in Minnesota. One thing is clear the federal government has had enough of sanctuary politics turning American cities into war zones.
