Minneapolis Mayor Defends Violent Agitator and Tells ICE to Leave After Fatal Shooting

Minneapolis once again finds itself at the center of lawlessness not because of federal enforcement, but because of weak Democratic leadership openly siding with violent agitators. On Wednesday, a female protester who attempted to run over Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents was fatally shot during a lawful immigration raid. The Biden-endorsed mayor of Minneapolis, Jacob Frey, responded not by supporting law enforcement, but by unleashing a profanity-laced tirade against federal agents.

“To ICE, get the f*ck out of Minneapolis,” Frey said in a press conference, standing alongside the city’s police chief and other officials. He then accused the Department of Homeland Security of spreading “garbage” and falsely blamed federal agents for the woman’s death despite bodycam footage and eyewitness testimony indicating the woman used her vehicle as a weapon.

• DHS has labeled the act as “domestic terrorism.”

• The ICE officer fired in self-defense to protect himself and fellow agents.

According to DHS, the ICE officer feared for his life as the driver accelerated toward him an assessment that video evidence supports. Despite this, Minnesota’s Democratic leadership including Governor Tim Walz immediately jumped to defend the suspect and vilify federal officers. Walz called the Trump administration’s account a “propaganda machine” and pledged a state-led investigation.

Frey’s comments went further, blaming ICE for the violence entirely: “Now, somebody is dead. And that’s on you.” He went on to characterize federal immigration enforcement as a campaign of hate, claiming: “We are better than a bunch of ICE agents being deployed to cities around the country and ripping apart families and communities.”

This woman weaponized her car and tried to kill federal officers during an operation targeting a city embroiled in a $250 million child care fraud scandal involving individuals from Minnesota’s large Somali immigrant population. The chaos in Minneapolis isn’t being caused by ICE it’s being caused by sanctuary city policies that enable crime and punish those who try to stop it.

President Trump’s administration deployed 2,000 federal agents to Minnesota for this exact reason: to clean up cities that local Democrat leaders have allowed to rot. This shooting is just one more example of the growing conflict between lawful governance and radical, soft-on-crime officials more concerned with appeasing mobs than protecting citizens.

Instead of backing brave federal officers who risked their lives, Mayor Frey chose to insult them and cast blame making it crystal clear where his loyalty lies. And it’s not with law-abiding Americans.
