Michelle Obama Refuses to Attend Trump’s Inauguration

As Donald Trump prepares to take the oath of office for his second term, one high-profile Democrat is making it clear she wants no part in the historic event. Former First Lady Michelle Obama has officially refused to attend the 2025 Inaugural Ceremonies, despite her husband, Barack Obama, confirming his attendance.

A statement from the Office of Barack and Michelle Obama made it official:

“Former President Barack Obama is confirmed to attend the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies. Former First Lady Michelle Obama will not attend the upcoming inauguration.”

While no reason was given for Michelle Obama’s absence, it follows a pattern. She also skipped former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral last week, reportedly due to a “scheduling conflict” while vacationing in Hawaii.

• Barack Obama will attend the inauguration alongside George W. Bush and Bill Clinton both of whom will be accompanied by their wives, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton.

• President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who were soundly defeated by Trump, are also expected to be in attendance.

• Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance will be sworn in at noon on January 20, kicking off a new era of America First leadership.

Trump, who continues to extend an olive branch despite years of Democrat hostility, was even seen chatting amicably with Barack Obama at Carter’s funeral. Meanwhile, Michelle Obama’s absence from these major national events raises questions. Is she refusing to acknowledge the will of the American people, or is this just another petty snub from a leftist who still can’t accept Trump’s return?

Regardless, Trump is moving forward with a massive celebration, including a Victory Rally at Capitol One Arena in D.C. and several inaugural balls the night before his swearing-in. According to Trump’s Inaugural Committee, the events will reflect his “historic return to the White House” and the decisive vote to Make America Great Again.
