Michael Rapaport Unloads on NYC Crime Crisis and Far-Left Policies

Former liberal slams release of repeat offenders and calls out insanity of letting predators roam free.

Michael Rapaport is done playing nice and the left should take notice.

In a fiery monologue on his podcast, the once liberal actor and comedian unloaded on the lawless state of New York City, tearing into the city’s soft-on-crime policies and slamming radical mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani. His message was loud and unfiltered: “Put them in a fing zoo.”*

Rapaport’s outrage was personal. He recounted how his wife was groped in broad daylight while walking in Manhattan a sickening violation that’s become all too common in a city spiraling under progressive leadership.

“I’m sorry you’re a psychopath. I’m sorry you’re mentally ill. But I don’t need you walking around me. I don’t need you walking around my wife,” Rapaport said.

He’s had enough of the revolving door justice system:

  • Repeat offenders arrested 14+ times are back on the street within hours.

  • Violent criminals are treated like victims.

  • Public safety is collapsing, and law-abiding citizens are left to fend for themselves.

This isn't just about politics for Rapaport it's about basic human decency. And it's a stark reversal from a man who once blasted conservatives and Donald Trump. Now, life has red-pilled him in real time.

“I don’t want people like that walking around my wife, walking around my kids. Nor should you,” he declared. “It has nothing to do with politics.”

But in New York City, it is political. The rise of far-left candidates like Zohran Mamdani who supports defunding the police, abolishing prisons, and legalizing prostitution is a direct result of Democrat policies that value ideology over safety.

Rapaport’s unfiltered truth struck a nerve, with social media flooded by comments praising his awakening:

  • “Watching a liberal metamorphosis into a conservative after life happens to them is like watching a caterpillar turn into a butterfly.”

  • “I love to see Michael’s complete 180 transformation. That’s what happens when you start to see things for how they are.”

And it’s not just crime. Rapaport, who is Jewish and pro-Israel, has been distancing himself from the Democrat Party since the October 7 Hamas attacks, slamming progressives who sympathize with anti-Israel extremism. He's also been one of the few public figures to speak out against the twisted responses to Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

“Any public person that would, in any way, shape, or form, support, laugh at, excuse, the public killing of Charlie Kirk, is sick. Really, really, really twisted,” Rapaport said earlier this week.

He's saying what millions of Americans feel but are afraid to say that leftist policies have failed, and we’re all paying the price for pretending otherwise.

New York used to be a city of energy and opportunity. Now it’s a warzone of fear and dysfunction. Rapaport’s red-pilled rant is the latest sign that even former liberals are waking up because when it hits your front door, ideology goes out the window.
